For years I've been saying one of the issues with politics was the need to revisit rules that assume all politicians are approaching their office with a sense of integrity & with a purpose to serve. The stunning lack of tools to curb this kind of behaviour & level meaningful consequence is alarming

North America has created the perfect post-truth society through media's decay and social media's lack of regulation IMO. When truth doesn't matter, where facts are what you want them to be, it's an easy leap to dismiss other values like integrity and respect.

That looks decadent and if your son made it, you will have no choice but to eat it....gotta be supportive LOL. Happy new year!

Love it.....now you have good luck too!

The superstition has variations.....for us it was always just rabbits, but assume I meant white rabbits if that's your thinking

This is a trite and facile comment and the mark of a kind of partisan who joins 'teams for life' rather than makes a choice based on policy or position in consideration of their circumstance and context of the times. I do not think we will agree on this.

punching down to the Liberals.....they have 9 seats, the election is Marit's to lose and this kind of campaigning is disingenuous and needless.
comment in response to post
That's it Marit....punch down and split the vote. You go girl, it worked so well last time.

Loved this piece.....as the keeper of all information useless in my household, I have a deep affinity for the irrelevant.

All before an election is called....during the election period none of this will be discussed by convention

sorry aren't the same thing

You know Trudeau rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when he said "A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian" is was an uncomfortable truth....but in context it was said just as the rise of this kind of comment started to become popular. As you've observed, that kind of thinking is on the rise again.

Nothing will leak from the Inquiry panel.....Hogue runs a tight ship and the consequence for doing so will be huge. If you are looking for leaks? maybe from the NSICOP report? but not from this

It wasn't when they gave us Harper either....but I really think this is what they are going to do anyway. Jagmeet is sniffing glue here or getting really bad advice but I think HE thinks that he can get at least opposition here.
comment in response to post
They won't do that.....that's the point I am making, activity ceases and they won't release this stuff at all. Even if they did release it, it's not the report we are waiting for the the recommendations and the recommended investigations and that REALLY won't be discussed in writ (remember Goodale?)
comment in response to post
Who knows maybe he thinks he will get switchers? I have heard people suggesting so....maybe? they can't be that dumb
comment in response to post
The House is adjourned until 1/27 true....but you realize there will be no names in that report and the next steps will be investigation (like NSICOP the public stuff will be redacted). The report is due in January (near the end I think) so if the writ drops, the public comms on this stops

Oh sure he does....every time he claims if not for the NDP we wouldn't have dental or pharma..both of these things were in the LPC platform and in fact the framework for Pharma was done before their cooperation agreement. At every turn of the way rather than tout his ability to partner, he complains
comment in response to post
He won't win over disaffected Liberal voters.....Liberal voters just won't vote like they did in ontario last election

Screen cap attached. Her post is getting ratioed pretty badly and for her that's saying something. I have noticed the Ontario NDP don't seem to be noticing provincial and federal supporters are the same thing.
comment in response to post
No, my take is they don't care....they will do it anyway. I think the Bloc is wise to the issue but they don't care. The Bloc are full funnel focused on Quebec. Jagmeet is dumb enough to think he can shame people enough with sanctimonious posts in social media to get them to release it anyway = dumb
comment in response to post
Don't assume he's the sharpest tool in the shed. I think the man is easily led by public opinion & the pundit class. Once we are in a writ period the report will not be released nor will any investigations be made public, this is a long held convention (we all remember when it was broken in 2004)

I know Ontario can't survive Ford AND Poilievre
comment in response to post
No, you need to to conclude and THEN get referenced for investigation should the judge feel it's warranted.
comment in response to post
You won't get to the end result of the FI inquiry if Jagmeet topples government.....so you really think it will all come out AFTER the writ drops? By convention nothing new in terms of investigations comes out during an election (save for an arrest I suppose)
comment in response to post
He does....the trouble is he demands ALL the credit and then bad-mouths the Liberals. The LPC and NDP worked in this together in fact both have had all these programs in one form or another in their platforms over the years (save the Accelerator fund, that was just LPC).
comment in response to post
Kind of, sort of agree....however, he played the communications on that all wrong. The point of his agreement with the LPC (for him anyway) was to convince LPC supporters that HE can work with others, HE can put together programs and that LPC can feel ok choosing him.....he instead stayed angry

I found worse.....in the self-immolation category, Marit Styles parroted back his sentiment and her support for his letter and it doesn't seem to be going over very well LOL
comment in response to post
It's so annoying.....they pull grandstanding, 'can't do' stunts like this all the time. They waste time in the House all for clicks. I mean it's a regular thing for them......is mainstream media just cluing in now?
