Sure, but I'd much rather trade out how iconic it is in favor for clarity. The old ones worked much better back in 2011 when minecraft had like 5 or so mobs, but as of now with how many mobs are in the game, this was needed for quite a while.

Yeah, there really isn't a issue cause there are already texture packs bringing older textures into modern minecraft, one of those will likely have the old eggs too. I really like the new eggs.
