That’s interesting. I think actually now that you say that, I have Spectrum internet and they’ve been trying to sell me the cable sub which includes Max for free.

It feels like you’re part of something special that not everyone knows about yet. WWE’s become the soulless corporation trying to homogenize all wrestling entertainment under one brand and style. AEW feels punk rock. Like ECW or AJPW in the 90s.

I used to wear Kenny’s Cleaner BC shirt and ppl who had no idea what it was just thought I was wearing a shirt with my first name on it. 😂 They’d be like, “hi, Kenny!”

Yeah, it’s wild how many ppl still bother with that crap. It’s changing though. I wonder what the percentage of users is that the various cable companies have lost since streaming started. That seems Googlable…

I have always been a cord cut fan watching on Youtube TV. I doubt my engagement was included in the Neilson ratings. Now I exclusively watch on Max. It’s slowly shifting so there are more ppl who have streaming instead of cable.

Tony happens to own ROH, but it’s a completely separate company from AEW.

I feel like it sneaks in more stuff without making it seem too long. I’d love a third show but it’s asking a lot of fans to make time to watch 2 more hours a week of wrestling. The ratings will almost certainly be low. I wonder how well a Sun afternoon show would do. Seems a natural time to watch.

What would you think and what do you think most fans would think if they made Dynamite and Collision a half an hour longer? That’s 4 extra 15 min segments.

In ‘14 a new job brought new friends who pulled me back into it. WWE was still intolerable but NXT B&G was great. We all know how that story ended. Meanwhile, I learned about Kenny and the Bullet Club and fell in love with wrestling again. The path from there to hardcore AEW fan is obvious. 🤘🏼

Love that they’re bringing in new fans to wrestling. I was an 80s Hulkamaniac, kept watching, in hiding until the Monday Night Wars when it became mainstream. Bailed on all wrestling in ‘08 bc WWE became PG and I was no longer the demo they chased.

Yeah, Tony did well to keep her off tv.

Bro, whatever’s going on in your life that’s bothering you, acting out and trolling online isn’t going to fix it. You’re embarrassing yourself.

I understand the fear. That’s why I think if they get a third show (AEW needs more time) they should make it women heavy, but still feature men. Flip it so men get 2 or 3 segments, giving them some extra airtime, and and the women get the rest.

Oo! I love the idea of women only specials!

I was just thinking about that. He did the same kind of streak storyline with most of the dominant women. Asuka, Shayna, Rhea and Io.

Yeah. Most of their roster were insane in the ring and their matches were by far the highlight. The only other major contribution Trips made was putting lots of time into entrances and theater. It was great bc it was a simple formula with a small roster. How much of all that was Dusty though?

I’m with you. I think we need to get louder about it, honestly. I’m not really bothered right now though bc I can see he’s building. A lot is happening in the women’s division. It feels like it’s about to launch.

But what happens to the Continental Classic if they merge these? I feel like the winner’s just going to carry both belts until the next CC.
comment in response to
post
Well, by domestic I mean in AEW, with no restrictions. If they do a crossover where the champion defends on NJPW they can still do it, but I think the Global belt would mean they regularly defend in other companies and territories around the globe, like Take was doing as IN champ.

Honestly though, $15mil is way too much.
comment in response to

What if they change the World Heavy Weight Titles to the Men’s and Women’s AEW Championship, and make this merger of Continental and International the AEW Global Championship? So it’s like you have the domestic company champion and the one that fights in other countries as well as at home like Take.

… mixing and matching all the competitors on the various company’s shows for the month leading up to the ppv. At the ppv the winner is deemed the Best in the World in that division.

World (Men&Women), Jr HvyWeight (M&W), Tag, International, North American and then maybe a Battle Royale where the winner gets a shot at the World title in any promotion they choose. Have the tournie matches…
comment in response to

I had what I thought might be a good idea for the owners of as many of those companies as possible to come together to create an annual ppv that’s like the US Open. They could create a “commission” and each match on the ppv would be the finals of a tournie for each championship class:

If they didn’t announce a name it’s likely a jobber match and Jamie will make an appearance to forward their story. That’s my guess.

Yeah, I think they’re all ppl who would rather be in AEW but aren’t getting opportunities so they’re probably considering other options. I don’t think Deonna or Rosa have given up, but the others probably have.
comment in response to

Yeah, I don’t see her being given many opportunities in AEW with how stacked their roster is. Sadly for her though, I’m not sure how much interest WWE has in her. If I were her I’d try to go to NJPW or Stardom. I’d prove to Tony that she deserves a spot.

Yeah, I think definitely before Tony backed up the Brinks truck for him. He made such a great deal with them that he literally got an AEW tattoo. He is committed. Pretty sure it was at least a 5 year deal too. I think MJF’s locked in for awhile.

One of the main differences between AEW and WWE for the wrestlers is how much politics they have to deal with backstage. WWE’s like a shark tank. They underpay their stars (minus the legends like RKO and Cena,) so that they feel they need to politick for wins so they can get bonuses and exposure.
comment in response to

I’m sure Tony would enjoy meeting and talking to him bc Tony’s such a wrestling nerd, but I imagine this is Vince’s ego and he wants to tell him how he thinks they can beat WWE. As much as he hates wrestling, really he hates WWE most.
comment in response to

Looking through their roster, the ones I think would rather be in WWE are: Danhausen, Mike Bennet, Matt Taven, Scorpio Sky, Tony Nese, Britt Baker, and Deonna Purrazzo. I don’t see anyone else looking to leave. Could be completely wrong, though. I think Rosa is getting there but wants to be loyal.

This would actually be a great ad for them. Love it.

That’s ignorant and untrue. Since they went to Max and added their ppvs to Prime, their ratings and views have increased. They’re doing well selling tickets too. Do you realize that Raw and SD’s ratings have dropped significantly? Your point’s actually ironic.

Hey there. 🙂 My favorite bi wrestler in AEW is Toni Storm for sure. I don’t know who else is considered “bi” but my favorite LGBTQ+ wrestlers are: Bowens, Nyla, Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and I didn’t know Stat was LGBTQ, but if she is she’s at the top of that list under Toni.

😂 I never saw this before and that’s the huggiest hug I’ve ever seen Tony hug. I appreciate how he just doesn’t GAF what ppl think of him. He wears his emotions and passion on his sleeve and owns it. I admire that.
