The detained protesters were put in a van that pulled into the parking garage. No one on scene is sure what will happen to them now.
Agents (some FBI alongside ICE/ERO) enter the building:

I think David Corn was being sarcastic here. But yeah, way too many people give these guys the benefit of the doubt.

America is our home, and the flag is the most recognized symbol. The right wing also claims they are the only real Americans.
Fuck that noise. We all live here and we're all Americans and they can suck it.
If people want to wave the flag while protesting for human rights, I don't care.

The "lone wolf" defense has been used by anti-abortion terrorists for decades. I was not surprised that the Minnesota killer had abortion providers on his kill list.
There's the terrorists who provide information on targets and recruit, and the ones who act on the info. Sides of the same coin.

DC on days like this is really best after the sun goes down. When I lived there, I used to feel bad for all the tourists slogging their way up the national mall in the heat and humidity.
These bozos though. I hope they were miserable every damn minute.

They put out a statement that made it clear they don't think we have any responsibility to de-escalate what's happening. Might as well do nothing at a parade, since doing nothing was the agenda.

My first experience with a police riot was at an antiwar protest in 2002. They blocked off exit streets, then ordered us to disperse. But we couldn't, so they started firing rubber bullets. Got covered as "protest erupts in violence". We didn't have all the cameras back then.

If everyone in that crowd in Savannah was masked, the cops would not be arresting a lone person trying to protect themselves from Covid. Put on a medical mask - an n95 or kn95 - protect yourself, protect the resistance, protect the vulnerable. Easy hero shit.

Your place of birth doesn't excuse your trashy behavior, little guy.
I hate these guys who make being an asshole their entire personality. It's not edgy or admirable, you just lack basic social skills.

He had a bunch of abortion rights activists and abortion providers on his kill list, so yeah.

Don't know what the distribution is there, but I imagine it would be similar. Having celebrity be the determining factor, as opposed to work hours, skews things.

Even if you lump management/owners in with workers, 97% going to 3% would be unusual. There are just a lot of workers!
The disparity with SAG is because you have both celebrities with insane pay rates and actors struggling to find work under the same umbrella. And those actors have side gigs.

You asked if it was wildly different from the rest of the country. Yes, it is.
97% going to 3% is not a normal distribution of wealth among workers in most industries.
That's a different question than general wealth distribution, which includes owners.
Studio owners aren't SAG members.

Union Station is a tourist hub, which makes this even better

Hospital administrators aren't making 97% of the money. Neither are university administrators.
There's a big difference between industries where people are paid for being celebrities and other industries.

Yes. SAG is made up of actors, not studio owners.
3% of grocery store workers aren't making 97% of the income.

Are you still masking in public spaces?

This is why people called for defunding the police. This has been the reality for many communities for a long time. Now everyone gets to see what it's like to be treated as an "enemy" by the cops.
