And finally, to acknowledge one of the greatest accomplishments in this—beating Strom Thrumond's record. That legacy made by that twisted evil fuck has been usurped by someone he thought shouldn't have rights, fighting for America's soul.
We'll need MORE of this. Thank you, @corybooker.com.

This moment during the record break was encapsulating. Booker, who knew he was on the verge, told Schumer no. This is not a time for hearing from you. You represent what we are moving past.
We need this.

To see this being said on the Senate floor was immense. This was just a first step, yes. But we've been asking, demanding for someone, anyone, to say this—and he did. This was a ray hope in what has been a time of utter despair.
We need this.

What conscionable reason could there possibly be to leave the group chat?
If you had accidently been added to the correspondence of Hitler's inner circle, would you have informed them to remove you from the mailing list?
This is a genuine question. I do not understand the decision.

I wonder why you need to keep telling yourself that.

You surely don't need more examples of, in fact, "the media" failed to hold Trump to his P2025 lies. But you're right, the public was told... by the DNC. The Harris campaign made it a core focus and was the actual torch of truth.
But yes, Trump won anyway. And that thread still needs some pulling.

Here's the thing, I would LOVE to support MSM again. But this EXACTLY why I can't.
There seems to be a fundamental cultural issue of just not being able to be objective—not neutral, both sides sure get equal treatment—but truly objective.

The real test is to see (assuming the Trump White House will take this all the way) if this SCOTUS will take the final leap and uphold this literal nonsense that blatantly ignores the explicit text of the Constitution.
I suppose we'll find out in the coming months.

To be clear: The phrase is referring to the child. But, the parents are absolutely "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States, even when they are "unlawful." If they weren't under the jurisdiction of the laws of the United States, they couldn't be considered "unlawful" in the first place.

He was already a convicted felon. (This post inspired my post).

And I really wish someone with a louder voice could rigorously make this point, but Trump was already a *convicted* felon, during his conviction in May.
The legalese of what just happened this morning:

4/ I'm just saying the 11th Circuit was on notice that Cannon was wilding out (particularly with the three-day thing) & they could have reined her in & they did not.
And none of us knows what that means.
AND all of this is headed back to SCOTUS, which 30 minutes ago just barely turned back crazy.

Not a single objection was raised to the counting of the ballots for the insurrections chief architect, likely from simply knowing it would be spending political capital on an unwinnable battle.
However, in doing so, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution is, in effect, lost.

I wish more MSM would report this way. Accurate framing.

To me, it comes down to that this proves Musk has power over the federal government.
I don't think oligarchy is worth it.

Musk is probably a little pissed, but he's the winner of this.
He just proved he does have power in the federal government.
The Senate Democrats can still tell him no. Hold them all to it.

Thank you for saying this.
Dems MUST start beating the Republicans in the information war.
You're sorely needed as DNC Chair.

I am all for stopping the treacherous infighting among the Dem base, but the angle here is wrong.
We NEED to be united in this, telling the establishment that hanging on to norms and not doing the most has to end.
AOC would have done so much in this role. We must hold this loss to them
