If by "blessed," they mean "tossed aside."

Have you accepted the Market as your Personal Lord and Savior?

The Market makes this world.

Meditate upon this icon of our dear leaders, the heads of the Upright Capitalists Brigade. store.mearone.com/products/fal...

Spend even more.

There is no overturning of the temple tables in our religion. At least not until we can find a way to commodify that sort of thing.

Generosity is a fiction. Altruism is just self-interest in disguise. Whatever you do, do not practice radical generosity! We don't want to have to send the brute squad after you!

Easy there. It's not like we have a brute squad to send after naughty consumers who weren't spendy enough this Christmas season. Not yet.

The Upright Capitalists Brigade doesn't care what #Capitalism does to the planet. We're planning to move to Mars anyway.

The truth preached here.

Poor character written by an author who has experienced poverty: My problem is that I'm $300 short on the rent and now my car is making a noise Poor character written by a rich author: My problem is that I feel so inferior beside these beautiful, sophisticated rich people

The Number of the Bins

Musk isn't going to be satisfied with being the Shadow President. He's gunning for Emperor of Global Corporate Feudalism. First one, then the other. #capitalism

Corporations are not democracies. Do not expect the governments they own to be democracies either. Global Corporate Feudalism is coming. Are you ready? If not, you better make quick friends with the nearest manor lord.

Sometimes the Market God expects a human sacrifice. Very old school, this Market God.

"Capitalism" should start with a capital letter, just like all the other religions.

The Upright Capitalists Brigade is confident #capitalsm will continue as long as people aren't telling a more compelling story than the story capitalism tells.

The Upright Capitalists Brigade is confident #Capitalism will continue as long as people see it as an economic arrangement and not as a false religion.

[youth pastor voice] You know who else doesn't always get a follow back

NYPD was founded to protect the Upright Capitalists Brigade. That's it's original purpose.

Irony can't defeat fascism.

I think we as a nation are, finally, ready to talk about Bruno.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends: 1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration; 2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you; 3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

sesame street isn't supposed to make money. the post office isn't supposed to make money. not everything is supposed to MAKE MONEY

What do you think is the bigger problem in higher ed? Woke indoctrination or half the profs making $3,000 per semester? Hard to say

The Upright Capitalists Brigade supports saving jobs in swing states.

we have more than a month before inauguration so it would be really cool if everyone — press, posters, everyone — would stop reacting to shit trump says as if he has unilateral, unchecked power

Don’t stop

Like Christianity and Islam, capitalism is a missionary religion, never satisfied with the following it already has.

Why is it that corporations never have to tighten their belts like everyone else? Instead of taking the hit to their bottom line, they lay off workers and enshittify products. I thought corporations were supposed to be people too.

The Upright Capitalists Brigade would like to assure you that Global Corporate Feudalism won't be as bad as it sounds. After all, it's them a good enough living.

But what if humanity is shifting toward both more state violence and more individual violence? If it's not called civilization or decivilization, what do you call it? Answer: Global corporate feudalism. apple.news/AhyPB16zfSzy...

Is it too late in this proto-fascist moment for nonviolence to be successful? I really hope it isn't too late now.

Capitalism is a religion in its own right. (See my bio for more.) Christianity is a syncretist religion: it absorbs pieces of other religions and makes them its own. It's absorbing predatory capitalism right now. That gets us the prosperity gospel and Christian fascism. The Market save us all.

Pointing out their hypocrisy will not defeat the fascists. But making them look small and childish might.

Elon Musk is a 53yo adolescent. He refuses to take responsibility for the well-being of anyone but himself.

Americans are not well-informed about political news. That's certainly not going to change anytime soon. So any plan would need to assume that it's not going to improve enough to make a difference. There is no news segment that will make them say, "damn, we've got to start opposing fascism now."

Hopeful because of South Korea today.

So is worshipping the Market God the worship of something that's actually real? Or is the Market just make believe?
