Fun Fact: Last year, when my Dad was dying in the hospital, Hunter Biden called me to express his and his family's support for me and mine in my Dad's final days. I will always appreciate his kindness, and nobody can ever change my mind that President Biden was right to pardon him. 🙏♥️

Good question.

This kind of thing works, this kind of thing is what can prevent us from sliding into an autocracy

I’ll bet you 20 bucks that Bluesky will have more users than Twitter within the next 12 months. That’s crazy — but a GOOD crazy! 😄

I am trying to take public transportation more instead of driving. I am trying to eliminate my spending at Walmart and Amazon entirely. I am trying to use less plastic. I am trying to eat less meat and never get fast food. These tiny acts of resistance add up. I recommend you all try to do the same.

Elon admits that any post on X with a link is throttled He advises you to upload content directly to X instead, where he can monetize it Musk is the richest person in the world and his view is everyone should work for him for free

Dark times.

Don’t feed the billionaires.

In the aftermath of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, disturbing questions about the integrity of the results have compelled voters throughout the country to call for a forensic audit. We are calling out for a comprehensive forensic review of the 2024 election. Consider…

The same Republicans who have made an absolute spectacle over which bathroom a transgender Congresswoman could use, completely ignored how the traitorous ex-president used one of his.

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.

Picked up this little book of writers’ writing rituals, & I think most of em are liars — “up at dawn, 6 hours at my desk, followed by calisthenics, liquor, & reading edifying works.” But David Lynch delivers the goods.

Word of the day is ‘librocubicularist’: one who loves nothing better than reading in bed. (Not easy to say, but I’m glad to know it exists).

I feel seen

If in 2024, you went canvassing a couple of times or phonebanked 5 or 6 times, I have a feeling, you'll multiply that, for the next election cycle, won't you? You'll recruit more friends, won't you? You'll donate to Democratic candidates, won't you? You'll never give up on democracy, right?

Good thing Trump’s new HHS Secretary RFK Jr is an advocate for raw milk. That pasteurization stuff that saved hundreds of thousands of kids from bovine tuberculosis and other diseases is all deep state nonsense. 🙄

Anyone who is anti-vax is pro-death. Period. The science and data do not lie. And they don’t care about your podcast.

We’re gaining on them, but need your help! I’ll never forgive Bloomberg news for normalizing Trump and giving him a HUGE interview on on October 15. Can you please RT and follow us so we can overtake them them on Bluesky? This will be a huge victory for new media. 💙🙏

Is it really you? @ilizas.bsky.social

Can someone explain to me how putting a rainbow in a classroom is “indoctrination,” but the Ten Commandments isn’t?

They might not LOOK amazing but these lentils made with bone broth, Parmesan, chives, and garlic are protein packed, delicious and filling.

A government run by billionaires will never be for the people.

I think this could heal the partisan divide

My daughter is home for Thanksgiving and this...

It’s especially difficult to be a U.S. History teacher in America right now. We might be close to watching the architects of Project 2025 via Trump dismantle the American republic as we know it. Meanwhile we are teaching how American democracy developed. For a long time it was the story of 1/

Good things have happened to me when I don’t tell anyone. Ironic.

I love that we don’t have to cover our drink here like we did on Twitter!

Oh, is Bluesky an echo chamber? Really? Are we missing out on the valuable contributions to human knowledge from people who post links to YouTube conspiracy videos and give their very important thoughts on White Birth Rates? Wow, that's really sad. I'm so sad about that.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

OMG. I JUST NOTICED THERE ARE NO ADS. 😭🙌🏽😭

Putting his name on the checks was brilliant. Many millions of people believe to this day that he personally gave them money. Republicans don’t pretend the electorate is something it isn’t. That’s why they win.

Sigh.

Gee, I wonder why Tulsi Gabbard, who is on a US watch list and is also beloved by RUSSIAN STATE TELEVISION, would refuse an FBI background check? She wants access to all of America’s secrets. I really wonder why. I mean, what could POSSIBLY go wrong here?!

Democracy dies in cringe

Too many people haven’t touched a book since they graduated high school and it shows.

I admire Biden for taking bold action to help Ukraine fight against Putin’s plan of an autocratic takeover. But I think he should be taking bold action to help his own nation as well.

Lovin’ it here on Blue Sky. The water’s warm, Bloody Mary’s have the right amount of olives, and no one tells me to “smile more.” How are y’all liking it?

I'm totally OK with being called woke. It just means that I'm showing off my green flags. Happy to follow others with green flags. #woke
