On the 6th of June 1969 Major Peter C. Hoag (United States Air Force) was in the pilots seat of the Northrop HL10. The vehicle achieved a speed of 727 kilometers per hour from an altitude of 13,716 meters. The unpowered glide lasted 3 minutes and 51 seconds. Photograph and information NASA.
