“The road to authoritarianism is filled with people telling you you are overreacting.” @governorwalz.mn.gov speaking at @americanprogress.bsky.social right now

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

The way tech is trying to shove AI down our throats is making me even more disinterested and disdainful.

It works. The government here largely works. Because we are so spoiled by how well it works, we are letting a fool convince us it is broken.

I'm going to start saying "art of the deal" every time I do something really stupid and then start backtracking

I'm watching CNBC. These anchors are so angry. They really didn't believe he'd do it. They're actually just now, 10 years into this shit, realizing he's a maniac hellbent on revenge and there's no grand plan for the markets. Better late than never but holy shit.

Pro tip: Never entrust the future of your country to a man whose top life ambition is to move to another planet.

Our tax dollars go to fund these weapons that have destroyed whole generational bloodlines.

What do you think the last meal Matt Huffman missed was? When was the last time Matt Huffman had to go through an entire workday hungry because he couldn't afford to buy himself lunch?

Federal Building in Columbus included, among others

They're gonna shit bricks after they burn everything down and realize the people they hate are all still right fuckin' there and whatnot.

the silence from all the people in my life who told me i was being “over-dramatic” about what was going to happen is deafening

@corybooker.com hello I used to run the Wendy’s Twitter account and I am begging you to let me help you with the dems social media strategy, I will literally do it for free at this point

The foundational policy of the new administration seems to be that women, people of color, other minorities, the physically challenged and foreigners are responsible for all this country's problems. In other words, everyone but white men.

Elon Musk, who has not been elected or officially appointed to any office, successfully pushed the FAA Administrator to resign 9 days ago.

A very good way for a Dem to stand out at the moment in a way that appeals to their base is to forcefully oppose what Trump is doing. Y'know, basic opposition party stuff.

I am not cowed, but I am very sad. I am sad for so many, people facing upheaval in their lives, with their families, at work, and in their communities. I am sad because it is being done out of hate, and also out of spite. I am sad because it is going to get much worse.

I think the eye-rolling we do at Musk distracts us from just how powerful and thus dangerous he is. Trump, Musk, Zuckerberg… that scares the hell out of me.

Look folks, we have our disagreements, and I obviously do not approve of everything he does, but Xen'daxor the Child Dismemberer and I share a deep love for this country that I believe transcends partisan politics

I’m like a lot of people who wonder what happened to the existence of a moral universe when Donald Trump continues to advance without accountability or punishment.

There must be a thorough examination of ALL Trump's cabinet nominees Consider what we know RIGHT NOW about Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem and RFK Jr And that's WITHOUT thorough vetting The American people deserve to know who will be representing them
