Free time from work is finally allowing me to work on my personal projects. It also gave me the time to read their horrible documentation and see the *1* line I missed explaining there IS a way to allow custom http connections. It even supports web sockets. Now to examine the possibilities/uses.

It’s so nice seeing the Rod of Asclepius being used correctly, versus the Caduceus… but why on the entrance to the elevators???

2 weeks after Beryl, finally in Houston to assess and run maintenance. Even at a distance the Skyline is quite the sight.

Reworking the topology of a model has never been particularly hard for me, but holy fuck do I have a whole new respect for people that need to do UV maps from scratch. This shit is hard.

I never realized just how hard it is to find “just a box” planter, but I’m happy I found this one. Indoor garden finally transplanted into a larger space. Just need to redo my sensors and irrigation setup, and figure out how to water 5 plots with 4 pumps.

Interesting things spotted this work trip

Made an unexpected 500 mile drive to Fort Worth. It’s amazing seeing the generationally targeted ads up here. I hate them.

Success! Moving my code from an external module and into the main theme itself has allowed me more access to the internal interfaces. A custom theme would now need to be released to use, but that is a triviality compared to the new possibilities available. This means chat redeems are now a go!

Yet another absolutely amazing discovery... an interface to add gameplay mods outside of the player's control. Can we say hello to possible chat redeems?

🤯 Apparently I am an idiot. The majority of my pad issues were due to 2 settings in ITGmania itself. With those unset all my problems disappear. More progress was made with chat request integration. There is now an in game menu to select the next song. Hacks upon hacks, but proof of concept works!

Significant progress made. Switched from using multiple custom scripts to toggle object visibility and moved to one plugin which allows scenes to be used, thus transitions. Pad overlay now works by mapping it to an xbox controller via an emulator, which is a blessing and a curse thanks to windows.

2024 Total Eclipse from approximately 30 miles west of Austin, TX. Just over 4 minutes of totality. Even caught a few coronal mass ejections. All despite heavy cloud coverage.

The wolf in me demands I chase 🐺

Can’t believe it’s been over 25 years since I’ve last seen Texas Bluebonnets growing on the side of the road.

Continuing to revive the old streaming toolkit by getting the score upload, and requests / song list overlays working so that I can make notes and learn where to optimize and what to remove on the rewrite. I mean honestly, who puts the newest requests on the top of the list?

When a shower thought turns into a few days of programming, and it actually ends up working! Hacking ITGmania to talk to OBS so that inputs can be shown/hidden. May need to swap that to scene switching due to how buggy ITGmania's screen capture can be when listed in multiple sources.

I have made a horrendous discovery. It is several years old and took about 3 hours to get it working to ~90%... but it is a mostly operational streaming capable toolkit for Stepmania. Bot integration for chat interaction, and website for available songs. Now I want to rewrite and modernize this. 😧

After 3 weeks, still haven't figured out a better play space for my setup, but damn is it nice to know after 4 years of no play I still got it.

I don’t believe there is any universe where these things are attractive.

Torchy’s Tacos providing the answer and meaning to life… especially when it’s on some one else’s dime.

To be able to gaze upon nature in the expanse between civilization is a treat… at least while it lasts

New toy arrived just in time for the weekend… I am now lost to the world.

Story of my life. 3 hour drive to plug in a cable. At least the smell of petrichor in the crisp cool air after 18 hours of rain is calming.

Some days you need to take a mental break. I enjoy taking the long winding backroads through our ranch power districts. As a treat. I mean, what’s an extra hour on my drive to work anyway.

This is the one furry Texas will never have a problem with.

Took a much needed mental health break by driving a few hundred miles to see Galaxy Quest with some friends.

Nothing quite like being forced out of your hotel at 2 am in 20 degF weather because the fire alarm goes off.

A journey of one thousand miles should NEVER start this cold when you’re in Deep South Texas.
