Manic Spreadsheeter (ist? izer?). Likes old anime dubs, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and that weird sticky goo that holds magazine inserts in place. Frequently wrong. www.v-i.dev

When you visit the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, you're actually visiting one of Silicon Graphics' headquarters, meaning the museum is literally a computer history artifact.

Well this is a first. Ordered a VHS tape, and it showed up packaged in an empty DVD box set (for a completely unrelated series) that was taped together with a label stuck on the top. Points for creativity, and the tape arrived safe, but the collector in me is screaming in pain.

Congrats to DENPA artists Moto Hagio and Mitsuru Adachi on their AMA nominations! It was an honor to be able to work on these books and we hope these nods will inspire more people to try titles like theirs in the future. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...

Osamu Tezuka's "A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose" is officially out NOW on Blu-ray! This is the first time the film has received an English dub and an official North American release. Order your copy today at skysetentertainment.com

A few years ago, we were informed the Megas had made its money back and we got greenlit for a reboot. Then Zaslav took over and shut it all down again because of course he did. youtu.be/qeIAy8QCR2c

Just got my hands on something that for years I was convinced didn’t exist: Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise on Betamax! Outside of the listing I bought this from, I can find *zero* information on this, and I assume it was an incredibly limited print run like the VHD.

Bring back funny stickers on anime covers. (Unaffiliated eBay link: ebay.us/m/b5t2Wt )

Fanatical’s currently running a promo for 56 digital volumes of The Seven Deadly Sins manga for $20, DRM-free (Not sponsored) www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/th...

Right now, you can build a fully-functional Ultra High Definition Blu-ray drive (with USB-C!) for your PC for less than $70, but this deal likely won't last. I wrote a little guide on building one of these on the cheap. (Apologies for the crappy photos) v-i.dev/blog/?p=817

Today’s arrival: Apparently sometime around 2021, Lionsgate reprinted Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex S1 with slightly redesigned packaging, replacing the Anchor Bay logo with a Lionsgate one. Discs are unfortunately bit-for-bit identical to the old crap set, so back to eBay it goes.

Starting to get the impression that Carl Macek may have been involved in the dub of Neo-Tokyo… (from the back of ADV’s 2004 DVD)

Not sure why, but I find the name “Broksonic” for a VCR brand weirdly funny. It’s like a caveman knockoff of Panasonic or something. Also their website hasn’t been updated since 2005, and is still up! www.broksonic.com/index1.htm

Aww man, PLEASE don't tell me CR has the home video license for this.....cuz if that's the case, I doubt we'll ever see a new physical release, and that's heartbreaking 😭

Wonder if this is another title they’ve been sitting on for a half decade, and it’s why we haven’t gotten a Discotek BD… (Baseless speculation)

If you want to be sure you get one of the new “Remastered” Angel Cop BDs, looks like DiabolikDVD is the place to go, as they just confirmed their current stock are the new sets. (I got mine from Amazon, but with them mixing inventory, this is likely not a sure thing)

Well that’s unfortunate: It looks like MangaUS/Anchor Bay/Lionsgate’s rights to Redline finally expired, and secondhand copies are climbing in price. Let’s hope some company can rescue the film. The JP BD seems to still be pretty cheap, but it’s sub only.
