I'm more than the sum of my trauma and I sure as hell don't have to explore it on the page for anyone's entertainment.

I feel a little called out...

Starter pack of the comics creators from Helioscope, a studio full of cartoonists here in Portland. Give these folks a follow! go.bsky.app/4c3tB1A

Today was a difficult one, but I'm getting stuff crossed off my list, which is fantastic.

artists support each other when systems will not. there's little safety net. it is resilience. artists are not your competitors. artists are your peers, mentors, and the ones who will defend the ability to create sustainably. to those who struggle to continue drawing, you are an artist.

"There’s no reason to believe that TAKE IT DOWN won’t be similarly exploited to go after sex workers and LGBTQ+ users, as well as anyone who posts an image or animation that another user simply doesn’t like and decides to report... It’s a danger that too few Americans understand."

Two hours of sleep is probably enough, right? This couldn't possibly have negative ramifications on my mental health.

Life as a marginalized artist People ask if your art will be about The Struggle You reply that your book is about muffins :) The people further inquire—surely your grandmother’s recipe? From your homeland?? You reply, no, just normal corn muffins

Things have been rough lately, but the last few days have been particularly roller coaster-y. I think I'm starting to come through the other side, but it's a bit touch and go.

The very next time someone tells me Star Wars isn't ridiculous I'm gonna cite Kenari. (You know, like canary...) The planet that suffered a mining catastrophy. Where the survivors are all wearing yellow? Yeah. Real serious business over there in the Star Wars.

Your stories and art are worth telling and sharing. They don’t have to be groundbreaking or revolutionary. They just need to be YOURS.

The Texas state board of Pharmacy can see the controlled substance prescription records of 37 other states. All that's needed for Ken Paxton to access those records is an administrative subpoena.

Try as I might I can't seem to unclench today.

Hey there, I created a Starter Pack of comic artists (designers, letterers, etc..) looking for PAID work. This might be a good resource if you're an editor or just a creator interested in developing a project. If you'd like to be added, just lemme know!

I will be adding more comic conventions with open applications when I get home tonight. Subscribe to either Ko-Fi or Patreon to keep updated. This is a free resource! Links below. ko-fi.com/teagoblincafe www.patreon.com/c/TeaGoblinC...

If we had BUI I wouldn't even care about idiots trying to undersell artists. Like just be wrong and spiteful while we can make art without fear of ending up on the street.

Last minute printing before GalaxyCon! Come say hi and get your white hair, red flag vampire boyfriend fix. 🤣

If you're in the Toronto area and want to come to a fun event tomorrow, @sambeckdraws.bsky.social and I will be at Another Story Bookstore (@anotherstoryto.bsky.social) talking about ALANNA THE LIONESS and signing books! Click through the eventbrite link and RSVP to save your spot! 🧑🏻‍🦰🗡️🦁

Who wants to meet Samus in the ring? #maytroid

The thing about "mediocre" art from non-white creators is they still had to work twice as hard to get ANY kind of recognition. To say they only got that recognition through manipulation of white guilt is reductive at best and utterly racist. It tries to steal the spotlight and recenter whiteness.

First Tea Goblin Cafe newsletter is up for open comic anthologies and open comic conventions! I have it up on both Patreon and Ko-Fi! www.patreon.com/posts/tea-go... ko-fi.com/post/Tea-Gob...

I still need a writer for a Star Wars. It'll give me a good excuse to buy a toy to play with in my living room. I mean... for reference. R E F E R E N C E

It’s not “industry drama” or idle discourse or whatever. It’s genuinely annoying and bad that when any of us get recognition for our work, some of our colleagues are gonna have a little white grievance about it and then think they’re brave and smart for saying it out loud.

Craft and art are two different things, by the way

Look, just make things that mean something to *YOU* that help you understand *YOURSELF* That’s why you make art. The rest of it is meaningless.

Oh, I've managed to reach the level of my depression where I'm watching restoration videos. That's neat.

Anxiety is real high today.

Hi! Worth a shot: it's my birthday and I'm pretty close to 4000 followers. I'm a scientist studying how kidney injury in young people affects reproductive health AND their future kids' health, nerdy musician (@pdxbroadsides.bsky.social), MC, and 85% Muppet. Would your friends like me? Tell 'em. ❤️
