If I was your political opponent, the only campaign advertisement I would ever need to run is just the screenshot of this exchange.

Update: got enough to cover both vaccines, so I'm taking down my original request! Thank you for making this happen for us. I may be a little misty-eyed right now. 😅

Holy heck, I just saw it and, thank you so, so much, to the both of you! There's no need to apologize when you've done something so monumentously kind! 🩶

THE FACT THAT IT WASN'T JUST US.

I don't disagree with your spirit, and I don't want to be discouraging--we need people like you to carry the torch and rally the cry! But for me, for this spot of time in this just-shy-of-a-decade-long nightmare, this is my Goya dog painting moment; but I get where people can see beauty there, too.

Happy update! A kind soul has funded us for one vaccine; as soon as we're covered for the second one I'll remove my reply with the link so that the next person can have their chance. 😊

😌 Thank you so much for doing this outreach effort. Words are escaping me, but seeing y'all in this thread made me feel "okay" for the first time today.

I appreciate why the OP finds the pushback that trans people and our allies are giving to be poetic/invigorating, but as a Tired Tranny TM who suffered Pulse and then broke down when I finally made my pilgrimage to Stonewall years later just standing in the doorway, this all just leaves me numb. 🥲

I can also provide the fee schedule/additional details in DMs for verification, and I'll happily follow up on this post to close the request once we're funded so that the next person can be helped. 😊

What I'm getting at is that disability rights and native rights are inseparable.

No but this was exactly my thoughts! I held back because I don't have anything but vibes to back it up, but everything in context reads like staging to make a person disappear. It might be worth passing this email along to a tip line if that's something you'd feel comfortable doing!

You can help Sam’s mom and sister get to Rochester from Minnesota and cover funeral expenses here. This began as help in the search, now it is for travel and expenses. A vigil will be held Monday at Wood Library in Canandaigua.

Oh this one gives me the chills thinking what it could have been setting you up for--do you mind if I reshare this thread so people know to be on the alert?

Me mass-liking to communicate the internet equivalent of raising my hand and sternly nodding from three lots down to show positive, neighborly affirmation to validate your being a good bsky neighbor 😌

Ty! If there's any success from this end I'll follow up. 😌

So let me clarify: what can we as patients do to support the NIH civil servants who are in free-fall/support alt NIH in its mission to preserve and apply precious research data?

In-kind, representatives are showing a remarkable amount of inaction to *gestures broadly* and while I won't call it a lost cause, it's not the only avenue we can depend on to get the job done.

Disabled people have definitely been on the front lines of that beat for a bit because it's usually one of the more accessible direct-actions. Less so now in states where contact information is being intentionally obscured to limit constituent reach. (E.g. in many of the states trying to nuke 504)

Not even specifically just the person who had the audacity to come into yr mentions, but generally speaking: the absolute worms that people give themselves to see a utility vehicle as a luxury toy is so unreal. 🙃 Freight's gotta move. Mail's gotta get delivered. First responders gotta haul ass.
