I couldn't think of anything to put here on the bird site, I couldn't think of anything to put here on the elephant site, and I can't think of anything to put here.

I'm afraid it was more than a decade ago: the From Russia With Love game came out in 2005!

Metropolis Street Racer:
1. The in-game time of day being based on time zones and the console's internal clock.
2. The accuracy of its city recreations. I always loved these double-page spreads comparing photos and screenshots, which the Official UK DC magazine used in their review of the game:

My favourite quote from that article was this Tory's accurate summary of their party:
"The Conservative Party has a history of treating people very badly, and it continues to do so."

I struggle to decide my favourite between the first one (best heist), III (best villain), and Rogue Nation (best vehicle chase, best villain defeat).
Next below them: Ghost Protocol (musical prison break!) and Fallout (great action, but sadly no heist-planning sequence).
Then DR, and finally II.

I remember the long thread you wrote a few years ago, about the high prices of Marvel/DC comics. You made a persuasive argument that monthly issues should be in B&W on cheap paper, with only collected editions getting lavish colour and paper quality.
It was a good thread, that!

Do you have a link to the original clip?
I did a search and found some videos by the Alaska Raptor Center, but those had hoods covering the birds' eyes.

The Halo series also followed the Alien -> Prometheus path with the Forerunners, which began (like the Space Jockey in Alien) as mysterious, unknowable things that left only dead remnants and artifacts.
Then Halo 4 did what Prometheus did by revealing that actually Forerunners were just big humans.

The Halo games followed a similar pattern with the Flood:
Halo CE: Oh no, you're being attacked by a relentless horde of mindless alien zombies!
Then Halo 2 did the Borg Queen thing of revealing that the zombies are controlled by a single leader who rants at you in English.

She might not be in heat, but it's still possible she was once in latakedown.

One reason I appreciate them is that Achievement dates act as a kind of automated diary.
It's nice to be able to look at a game's Achievements list and see that I first played through it in Jan 2014, replayed it on Hard in Oct 2015, and returned to it and got a high score Achievement in 2017.
