Since the orange conman has decided to stop obeying the laws from his own hand picked SCOTUS, I guess the rest of us can stop following laws too.

We are doomed if we rely on the courts.

After mass boycotts against Target for ending their diversity equity inclusion program in January, they’ve suffered 10 consecutive weeks of decline in foot traffic as well as significant loss in market value whilst Costco sees significant gains for keeping their DEI program. Good.

Exactly. Where are all the fraud charges? We should be asking this every day. We won’t hold our breath. 🤢

20,000 in ruby red Utah on their feet, in community, and ready to organize for a better world. A better world is possible.

To the people who think racist authoritarians should be posting more on Bluesky: What the actual fuck is wrong with you, fuck off with that mealy-mouth "both sides" bullshit, thank you for your attention, now go fuck yourselves

One little-known company has made billions running detention camps for asylum-seekers at the border. It's now repurposing its tents to hold some of the thousands of people arrested by ICE and facing deportation. By @micarosenberg.bsky.social, @jeffernsthausen.bsky.social & Avi Asher-Schapiro

If Trump can claim a "national emergency" to disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him? No one is safe — not even people legally in the country, possibly not even American citizens. Fascism is here.

i never imagined marco rubio would end up being one of the central villains in this endless nightmare. an absolute monster among monsters.

15 years ago the Supreme Court decided corporations are people under the First Amendment. Today, billionaire political spending is up 160-fold since that ruling. Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day.

NEW: DOJ doubles down on refusing to follow Judge Xinis's orders. Today's status report contains nothing new. It again fails to provide information about steps they're taking to bring Mr. Abrego back), and arguably violates her command that a declaration be made by someone with personal knowledge.

Again: it is supposed to be commonly accepted non partisan morality that “id rather let a hundred guilty men go free than imprison one who was innocent” but this administration and its party are gleefully inverting that premise and then some

I do wish that more stories about the El Salvador prison where Trump disappeared people would note that it’s only different from US prisons in that it’s in another country, not because of the conditions. People are tortured and put in grave danger on American soil every day in our prisons.

What if there was an opposition party that just said "If you give us a majority in congress we'll remove these freaks and criminals from power"

Bukele is flying to DC on Monday to meet with Trump. It's only a 4 hr flight. You would think someone in the media would be asking why Garcia isn't flying back with Bukele. The DOJ has to give a daily update to the judge, at 5pm every day, under oath. The judge should be asking the same.

Abrego-Garcia’s lawyers have asked for expedited discovery from US officials with knowledge of the terms of any deal with El Salvador and of A-G’s whereabouts. Expect Judge Xinis to grant it over howling objection, and for 4th Cir to deny US emergency appeal.

Give us proof, not your word.

Finally it's the weekend, I can relax and fully focus on being pissed off

Enjoy the tariffs. Enjoy the fake tough talk from your cosplay dictator. Enjoy the economic collapse. You broke it, MAGA. Now choke on it.

What’s the statute of limitations on market manipulation and insider trading? Asking for 75 million friends!

My law firm is currently litigating 49 voting and election cases in 21 states. States with the most cases: AZ, GA, NC, NV, FL, LA, PA. I expect new cases will be filed this week.

0. Vought, Vance, Rufo, and those attacking academia see scientists as bureaucrats—in the most pejorative sense of the term—who they can "put into trauma" and drive to quit. They don't understand that science is not just a job. It's a vocation, literally, in the original sense of *a calling*.

We stand by our reporting.

I once saw a guy get fired at a pizza place I worked at for giving a customer 8 breadsticks instead of 6, and it actually fucked up his life pretty badly. And yet these guys can just light enormous piles of money on fire and they’re still the most powerful and influential people on the planet 🥴

The danger of people using and accepting chatGPT style AI this whole time is that it has never been effective, never been ethical, and now it’s going to be used by the government to harm people at scale
