๐ญ๐ท, but I live in Southend now.
Love to bake, love a good videogame. Formerly obsessed with Fallout (my Vault Boy tattoos are an indelible proof of that) and I also take photos on 35mm film. Love me some horror films. He/him #believeinfilm

They're actually quite good, I was pleasantly surprised! Obv it's flavouring, but it's not too dominant.

I'd argue it's even better than the best Jaffa cakes out there. Glad it's triggered some nice memories for you!

One of my fave English chocolates tbh. The dark chocolate one is probaby the best, but try the mint one if you can, too. They also make good chocolate eggs, btw!

I wonder if the two showrunners clashing was to blame for some of this (it wasn't just the writers' strike holding back the release), and I also wonder what was supposed to be the original vision. They say they've always had the ending mapped out and I believe it. But the journey to it? Not so sure.

I don't feel as harshly about it because I still enjoyed it, but I won't deny it was probably my least favourite episode so far.

He's still very much alive and kicking (and old! ๐ง)
It was different times for sure, I'm glad that the kids these days will never know what it was like!

Oh yeah, that looks spot on, it's perfectly sliced and the layers are all even and clean. Hope you're happy with the flavour, too! ๐

Netflix is officially still committed to doing one, but they're 'reconfiguring' it, which means they're trying to bring the budget down to something manageable. I don't think this is going to happen any time soon, but I'd love to be proven otherwise!

Yeah, like that one. Although I found Opera cake wayyyy more challenging. Only made it once, and while it was worth the faff because it's amazing, it was just a bit *too* time consuming IMO.

It really is. I like semolina in custards, gives it a little bit of 'bite' if it makes sense ๐

Thank you very much! I'd say that most Bake Off technicals are more complex than this one. This one looks more difficult than it is, it just takes a loooong time to assemble (as in, frosting and then slowly levelling that and then the next layer etc)
comment in response to
post
Thank you! Trust me, it's entirely doable, just takes a bit of patience (it's assembling that's the most difficult)

Thank you โค๏ธ the filling is essentially custard (cornstarch, semolina, milk, vanilla extract and sugar. And butter).
