Most of my bases are from found materials. Beach sand, authentic quarry dust from a quarry here in Otago, Aotearoa NZ, various grits and woods. I do add snow or grass tufts from the hobby shop.

Hey newbie mini painters, a quick pitch- *please* finish off your base more than just painting over it with a single colour. Even if it’s just sand and then you basecoat and drybrush a lighter shade over it. It elevates even the most basic painting (and believe me, I am a basic bitch on this stuff).

Today on the painting table, just building up the base colours on this Flame Cannon crewman before I add some more colour on his tunic and make the golds pop etc. I’ve just given him a coat of Liquid Talent (Nuln Oil).

Played my first test game of #WarhammerTheOldWorld today. 1400pts (based on what I had painted and my opponent could cobble together). The Dwarf Mountain Holds saw off the Night Goblin horde tidily and although most units took a fair amount of damage, I only lost one unit. #WarhammerCommunity

For an instant gratification hobby, I’ve started collecting Hot Wheels cars. I now have my favourite car of all time, a Fiat 500e -the EV version. I’m not much of a car person, I am a tiny model person.
