I’m fairly sure I saw a lifer butterfly this afternoon, a mourning cloak, but it disappeared around a coyote brush after 4 or 5 seconds before I could get a shot off. It was dark with light wing edges and the right size, too. If it was easy, it wouldn’t be fun. But still, fuuuck! Wikipedia photo.
