Palestine was already occupied when Westerners decided to solve the postwar Jewish problem by creating a new state there. Every attempt to work together since then has failed primarily because Jewish settlers made sure it did. The anti-Semitism took a different form but that's still what it was.

The statistics for trans women in prison say that basically all of them will be victims of rape and other sexual assault for the rest of their sentences. Guards will literally give them to inmates they want to reward - they'll be treated as sex slaves.

Basically, you misunderstand the problem. In women's prisons, the guards aren't setting up trans women to be rewarded with sex from unwilling female inmates. In men's prisons, it's the guards who do facilitate the rapes.

That is not true of trans women in women's prisons. Nobody is giving female prisoners to trans women as rewards. Trans women who rape other women in women's prisons are punished for it. That's the difference. Corrections OFFICERS will facilitate abuse in men's prisons, but not in women's prisons.

Does someone really have rights if nobody will enforce those rights? Prisoners are routinely denied rights they're supposed to have and nobody does anything about it. In this case, these women will be sexually abused and raped for the rest of their sentences.

We've had another 30cm of snow already on top of the 15cm we got on Thursday, and there's another fifteen hours of this storm ahead of us. All told, it'll probably be around a meter. But my NDP lawn sign isn't buried yet!
