I keep thinking about that line from Chicago: And that’s because none of us got enough love in our childhood.

My mother got 1600 and my father above 1500. So effin’ what?

The MAGA clout goblins can't BELIEVE we could possibly be offended at all their Nazi salutes, such soft lefty cucks we are, when less than five years ago they were LOSING THEIR MINDS over people taking the knee after the murder of George Floyd.

Maybe we need a new word for people who do the sieg heil to troll the libs. [googles for a minute or two] Huh. It turns out "Nazis" still does the trick.

“We’ll see you in court.” Gov. Janet Mills is a badass for this.

Spoken like someone convicted for sexual abuse.

Waiting for the MuskRats to get rid of anything related to “transport”

As always, @chriswarcraft.bsky.social is a real one.

"Move fast and break things" sounds like some bold techbro vision of innovation, but it's also the same motto of thieves who want to do a smash-and-grab and get the fuck out before anybody can catch them.

There are two town halls scheduled for this. I encourage librarians affected by this decision to register and make your voices heard. I plan to attend both. 📚 discover.clarivate.com/pq-books-upd...

Federal workers are already posting direct accounts of their firings on TikTok, garnering viral sympathy and support. Why Dems are not taking advantage of these already public, very personal profiles is indeed baffling, see this thread: www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8YVxTUq/

Not all the Presidential Libraries are closed. Just some.

@juliusgoat.bsky.social

THIS. And Dems need to do the same.

Great @sulliview.bsky.social press advice: ✅stop with the pussyfooting about what’s happening. ✅stick together & stand up resolutely for press rights ✅emphasize the effects of Trump’s actions on local communities ✅compellingly tell the stories of today’s heroes open.substack.com/pub/margaret...

Exactly. Too many Dems are acting like this is a debate stage. It’s not.

*whispers* Just for the record, the holiday that's coming up, which is still officially Washington's Birthday, can be called Presidents Day (or Presidents' Day, if you must), but it's not: President's Day Please make a note of it it for your memes and things.

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

Anyone who still assumes there will be a free and fair mid-term election in two years in the United States still doesn’t understand a really key part of Trump’s, Elon’s and the GOP’s plan.

Things I Would Pay For: a “Bookshop.org” except for local newspapers. I just tried to read an article in a (not at all) local newspaper that was paywalled. I get it! And I want local reporting to survive. But… 1/2

Grifters all around

Betting today won’t be that day.

Also screwworm and rinderpest! And if you don’t know what those were, hoo boy, if you think beef is expensive now…

Here is the pre-RFK vaccination schedule for your kids. Please download it before he is confirmed and changes/deletes it. Give it to your pediatrician and say this is the schedule you want your kids on. Making this my pinned post.

It's called The Gulf of Mexico. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Shocked I tell you, Im shocked

So here's a thought. What if all the rest of the White House press corps stopped showing up until the AP's reinstated?

NO. You campaigned on retribution and the price of eggs

An open letter to the President of the @royalsociety.org – time to stand up for your values. occamstypewriter.org/scurry/2025/...

I think he’s confusing “democracy” with both “autocracy” and “anarchy”.

This Super Bowl Sunday, here's a reminder of what real courage looks like.

When I worked at NIH after college I remember a quote on the walls along the lines of "Think research is expensive? Try disease."

We know they’re going to ignore court opinions they don’t like. What recourse do we have? Violence? Giving up? Mass protests? We need to plan now for what’s coming. Complaining is not the answer.

Books disappearing from Amazon? They’ve done it before to publishers who won’t let them discount deeply. And then there was that coding “oops” that hid LGBTQ books. Or the unmarked AI books that included poisonous mushrooms. There are other vendors!!
