A system may be flawed, but it is a system regardless. To instantly change a system would be to disregard the marginalized communities that unfortunately must rely on a flawed system to survive. Change comes over time- which i believe comes from social mobility.

I was inspired by events in real life, happening across the world in eminent domain. Companies are given the greenlight to force people out of their homes and lands to build factories and businesses in the name of the economy. And often, no compensation can replace the loss of home.

So it's a story. It's told in different points of view from each side and sect, interspersed with radio/media transcripts of the radio people in universe. and it's also free to read! So if you've got some time and interest please check it out! open.substack.com/pub/modernsa...

So that's the backdrop: two modes of thought clashing against each other- at least politically. But the reality is that nobody is that polarized. There are people in the cracks, people who want a reduction and a middle ground, but there's also people on the radio who choose make money off of it. 4/5

So the New Industrial Faith people in government are pushing for seizing what they consider unneeded temples to make way for factory-temples and wealth-shrines domain seizure happens to be a temple to an old god, and then that sets the tone of what culture is sacrificed in the name of progress. 3/5

And there's the Old Faith, the adherents, whose people believe the city's culture should remain in blood and stone, the act of sacrifice (personal, blood, and change) rather than embracing and seeing gods and angels as tools to promote the industry. 2/5
