To end on a positive note, I'm reminding myself that RTD's first series 2 was a bit of a let-down after an amazing series 1, and he still managed to write a good series 3 and an absolutely banging series 4.
I'm actually looking forward to the upcoming special. Here's hoping it gets handled better.

There were still good things, of course, even in the two-part finale. They were just kind of overshadowed by some things that really didn't work.
The finale is *this close* to good, but it's fumbled pretty badly towards the end.
Space Babies was a better episode as a whole.

It was also an injustice to Varada Sethu. She was written so interestingly in the first half of the season, and then she was just kind of sidelined in the second half.

Season one of the new run was good up until the last episode. This season had a strong first half and then just devolved into... that.
This season was an injustice to Ncuti Gatwa, who last season was well on his way to becoming my favourite Doctor.

Det er vanskelig å lage fellesskap når det er ulovlig å jobbe i fellesskap. Det er vanskelig å finne likesinnede når du kan miste hele omgangskretsen fordi du snakker åpent om sexarbeid. Det er vanskelig å skape endring når det farlig å stå fram. Det er ensomt å være hore i Norge.
