They why is Israel pulling out of key military positions, such as the Philadelphi and Netzarim corridors? They lost and Hamas is ascendant. Trump wants to normalize relations with Israel, continuing his so called "Abraham Accords" from his first administration. I agree that they will be a tall order to accomplish, probably impossible in the wake of Oct. 7th and the blatant Israeli genocide against Gaza.

I don't know where you're getting your news. Hamas is still firmly in charge of the Gaza Strip and is administering the transfer of the POWs they agreed to release. The Israeli press has confirmed that Hamas's numbers grew during the siege of Gaza.

Yes they did. They failed to uproot and destroy Hamas which was their stated war goal. They failed to ethnically cleanse Palestine which was their only slightly less quietly stated war goal. They've had to give up hundreds of Palestinian prisoners for each Israeli POW released. They lost big time.

An example in reverse of what I mean is the term "Nazi" as opposed to "NSDAP" or the full German name of the party.
