Sorry, that's a SpaceX launch out of Vandenberg, happened yesterday around sunset. Predators are big propeller driven RC planes - they're certainly using them, I've seen ADS-B tracks, but that picture is something else.

Suppling, huh?

Oh Jesus, they started playing that piece of crap at Citizenship ceremonies under Trump in his first term. (I got my Citizenship in mid-late 2017 and wasn't subjected to it, but friends who got theirs later were - I used that as a good time to hit the bathroom).

As dumb as it sounds, I actually think this might finally be what does it for Hegseth.

It's giving strong Columbus vibes.

I swear there's a version of The Fugitive (1993) where you can see the (very white and obvious) hood of the truck the camera is mounted on at the bottom of frame as Harrison Ford's character walks into the railway tunnel after escaping the bus near the beginning.

This keeps reminding me of this clip, from 1990, the Dudley Moore movie "Crazy People". It honestly wouldn't surprise me if this is what started this nonsense. youtu.be/iicJYTAApbA?...

It reminds me of my citizenship ceremony in 2017. "And now for a word from President Donald Trump" ... the collective sigh of 5,000+ people followed by a strange "ooop" noise as 5,000+ people suddenly realize just how loud that sigh was a sound that will stay with me until the day I die.

Every time I see someone driving one, I'm filled with a sense of relief that I haven't made the catastrophic series of decisions that would lead me to think that buying one would be a good idea.

The EM catapults are a great idea if they can get them working reliably. Much easier to build/install and much better for the airframe, should also allow greater combat loads without ripping the wings off.

I got a COVID booster and an MMR shot at the weekend (since apparently measles is now a thing again) before they inevitably either outlaw them or somehow prevent insurance from paying for them.

I'm sure it sounds more regal in the original Latin.

Oooh, is he acting "more Presidential"?

We still call it Staples.

This has almost nothing to do with Tesla as a corporate entity. Elon has already undermined the US by abolishing USAID along with all his other DOGE twinks screwing over the Federal workforce. As long as he's doing that, China is more than happy to help him continue.

It's uncanny...

China will take the long view. If supporting Elon in the short term cripples US manufacturing/influence in the long run, they will absolutely do that.
comment in response to post
Oh, he's totally screwed. Obviously, Chinese consumers aren't put off by his antics, but Tesla in general doesn't have any new products and their domestic offerings are eclipsing anything Tesla's current range has to offer.

My gut feeling is that as long as he continues undermining the US government, China is more than happy to do whatever is necessary to keep Shanghai running. As soon as he "steps back", there will suddenly be a huge number of "unforeseen headwinds" over there.

Thanks! I'm just getting back into it, but hopefully I'll be posting a lot more.

I'll definitely take the daily builds thing over hoping that Autodesk fixed their shit every 6 months.

What I don't get is that Trump literally did this last time. Like, what did they think was going to happen this time around? Was the racism just too powerful for them to consider their own self interest?

I'm also getting a lot of the TL1000S "oh yeah, no, we're not doing that" from the insurance people, too.

I have several decades of riding motorcycles, just having something accelerate quickly isn't enough for me to soil myself. Knowing it might fall apart or burst into flames at an inopportune moment though? Yeah, that might do it.

Is that like a pizza sized crumpet? ... because, I'm in.

Also ignore the fact he's missing his spiky halo thing, that has absolutely nothing to do with my fucking up stripping the paint on the first 3 attempts at painting this bastard.
comment in response to post
Yes, I know he's far from perfect, but compared to the complete pig's ear I made of the last miniature I tried to paint, this is a significant improvement.

Right below Rupert Murdoch. If it wasn't for that asshat, neither Trump nor Brexit would have happened.

A little early to be using the word "spared" don't you think?

I had some idiot try to argue that that's why he slapped tariffs on the Diego Garcia military base.

Atheism causes wars? ... really? Two thousand years of European history (ie. all of it) would beg to differ.

Oh yeah, I think I might not have been too obvious in my initial post that this is a very BAD thing. These idiots, for some reason, want America to be a massive international economic powerhouse, but also don't like the idea of buying anything from other countries It's all just so goddamned stupid

Also, Google AI seems sassy about this.
