Just learned from @thewellredmage.bsky.social that it is Dragon Quest's 39th birthday! How many of you Dragon Quest fans have been to Dragon Quest Island on Awaji Island, near Osaka, Japan? My brother and I went there two years ago, see that here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=an8A... #JonNJasonInJapan

I FINALLY updated my Nintendo Console History infographic with recent Switch sales figures (up to Mar. 31, 2025) and the Switch 2 release date (only 10 days away). How many of these Nintendo console lifespans have you lived through? vgmaps.com/temp/Nintend...

There are 18 NTSC NES baseball games, 20 if you count the unlicensed Tengen R.B.I. Baseball sequels. We now have maps for all of them on VGMaps.com! Thanks to Rick Bruns for the Bad News Baseball map, and especially thanks to @darklordzagato.bsky.social for ALL the rest! vgmaps.com/Atlas/NES/in...

A one, and a two, and a one, and a two... In response to @beatemupswood.bsky.social's X post on May 24: "Call me crazy but this packaging is far too similar and a bit confusing for the general public 🤷" Not agreeing or disagreeing, but it wouldn't be the first time...

"SHOW ME YA MOVES!" The best part about the manuals for Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 are the pages that show Mario's moves.

The "Ultimate Game Guide" app is indeed pretty cool and handy. I have a look at it on my YouTube channel... though a couple years old, as at the time it only featured NES games. Now it has Super NES games, too! And with continuous updates! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWJd...

Before World Turtle Day is over, I made this 12-hour video of Hookbill the Koopa coughing. Because... why not? Like, share and subscribe! I'll have "real" videos again soon! www.youtube.com/watch?v=88xg...

Happy World Turtle Day! Here's Hookbill The Koopa from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES).

Two years ago today, my brother and I did a Harajuku food tour, guided by "Japan byFood" host/Miss World Japan 2020 finalist/fellow Edmontonian, Shizuka Anderson! Have you watched the longest/best/last/most-viewed episode of #JonNJasonInJapan? www.youtube.com/watch?v=777d...

Why not close out Pac-Man's 45th birthday with a look at Steelehouse Digital's "Pac-Man: The Movie [The Fan Film]"? I really like this, for some reason. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvAA...

Wow! I now have 677 followers on Bluesky! That's also the number of official North American games for the Nintendo Entertainment System! Check out my video showing boxes, title shots, and a minute of music from EVERY one of these NES games (and the PAL ones, too)!: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoLT...

It's Pac-Man's 45th anniversary! I felt like making this diagram to show the various forms that Pac-Man can take just on the NES alone! It's just one game with two sets of title credits, three labels, and four boxes. 🤔

It's Pac-Man's 45th birthday today! Though the game wouldn't debut in arcades until months later, Namco considers May 22nd to officially be Pac-Man's birthday because that's when he was publicly shown off, apparently. I also have a Pac-Man clock and blanket.

PC gamers, the free games to claim this week on the Epic Games Store are really good! Deliver At All Costs is a brand new game (came out today!) that looks neat, and I heard good stuff about Sifu, as well. Can't go wrong with FREE, anyway! Wish Epic could be awesome every week.

Two years ago today, my brother and I saw some unique sights in Odaiba and checked out the retrogaming and arcade culture in Akihabara! Video games galore! If you are a gamer, have you ever made the pilgrimage to Tokyo's "Electric Town"? #JonNJasonInJapan www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEAV...

The first video game console that our family owned was a ColecoVision, which we got in 1982 or 1983, and came bundled with Donkey Kong. If my memory serves, my brother and I grew up with these 17 games, before we got an NES. How many of these ColecoVision games do you recognize and can name?

"A Guide To Japanese Role-Playing Games" by @hg101.bsky.social is back in stock. If you are a JRPG fan, pick it up now, while you can! My review: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AacP...

The first game that our family got was Donkey Kong for the ColecoVision. (We even got an ADAM computer later that could play ColecoVision games.) We also got Donkey Kong Junior and Popeye, also by Nintendo. I was a Nintendo fan before getting an NES.

Google Veo 3 can generate some pretty realistic AI videos... but I bet it can't make a banger like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xZK...

Have you played all of the non-main Mario Kart games?

Two years ago today, my brother and I went to Tokyo Disney Resort, specifically Tokyo DisneySea (since that is exclusive to it, found at no other Disney Resort). It's a short episode, but the next & final two episodes are bigger & better! #JonNJasonInJapan www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7Zm...

Name a bigger downgrade. #ReBoot

Would you like to see George Wendt eating beans in a movie? Do you eat beans at George Wendt movies? #Animaniacs
