I GOT TO GARDEN TODAY. The ground is mostly too hard but I have a couple of flowerbeds that get full sun and they're all warmed up and starting to grow things, mostly weeds. They need re-edging and weeding so I got to dig and pull and work. Gardening season is back baby!

I went to advance voting and waited like 45 mins in line. There must've been a couple hundred people lined up in that high school, all from my small town of 40k people. Do you know how much rural voters hate queues and crowds? Canadians are PISSED.

For whoever needs to hear it? These are transferable skills.

One of the things that the autism panic is about is getting you to agree to define people in terms of their value to capitalism.

Some people like to skydive. Some people like to ski off the top of mountains. But my extreme sport as an autistic person is when someone says something that is either very good or very bad and I pick a reaction instead of waiting for them to say which it is.

Adhd con where everyone brings all of their unwanted hobby supplies and leaves with other people's unwanted hobby supplies.

If you want to be on the good side of history, just stand with trans people and autistic people. It works every time.

Why do the fascists always come for trans people and autistic people? Is there a compliment in here somewhere

thinking about how the human brain has a negativity bias, how focusing on all the bad things has, in fact, kept us alive, but also, you don’t have to be happy to be alive (past a certain point) and thinking about how you have to be SO INTENTIONAL about happiness if you want it you have to FIGHT

TFW it's a holiday but no one sent your anxious dog the memo & she gets very upset when routines are not upheld so here we sit at our desk while she dozes peacefully

I dreamed my dad invited me to a dinner in his honor, but when I arrived, no one made space for me at the table. They didn't seem to know or care about me. When I decided to leave, my dad asked me to come back after I had eaten. I told him, wherever I found a welcome, I would stay there.

Anyway, a few months ago I was given a work assignment I got inordinately excited about (as one does). I poured over it for days. I went down all the rabbit holes. I forgot about working like a normal person & created a document that no one was expecting.

For my American comrades who weren't taught history, it is normal to start wars with a Neville Chamberlain in power. You get Churchill later. There's still time.

The cruelest thing about anxiety is that it puts distance between myself and my anxious loved ones. We end up fighting each other to get validation for our own fears while staying clear of everyone else's. Crabs in a barrel but with anxiety.

An underestimated factor of autistic existence is that you can't hide. Not really. Studies show people can spot us in the wild based on just a few seconds of footage. It's just that when they spot us, they don't diagnose us; they simply don't like or trust us.

“Why am I so sad today?” I ask myself after staring at my little handheld sadness machine and clicking all the sad little things that will definitely make me sad

Here’s “Basket Case” except it’s about why you shouldn’t use Face ID or a thumbprint to unlock your phone

We need less "I'm autistic and I work/pay taxes" in response to RFK Jr's comments and more "autistic people are still valuable even if they can't do those things." We can't leave anyone behind in our efforts to "prove" a eugenicist wrong.

TIL Mercury is basically a ball of boiling lava with a thin skin. Same, Mercury. Same.

me: hmmmm, nope my optometrist: *turns down music in the car* how about now?

Alt: It's a headline from The Onion that reads: "Show Me Where You Make Autism!" Shouts RFK Jr., Storming Sour Patch Kids Factory

The first "cause" of autism was thought to be women, in case that helps you see where this is going: www.linkedin.com/posts/victor...
