One handed on your own nails, especially with the non dominant hand...would make one a resin guru.
I know everyone starts somewhere, but the fear of messing up is all too real.
Worst case, you can always strip the paint and start over without harming the plastic too.

Nail art brushes are also great for doing fine detail work on miniatures.
I discovered nail wraps though, which I recommend for others who are also so afflicted.
