I really need y’all to READ THE EXECUTIVE ORDERS before you comment on them. Sites like Pop Crave and Pop Base aren’t helpful when they push out vague statements. The new order specifically punishes schools that have COVID vaccine mandates. It’s not all vaccines. 1/

Context is fundamental. The current “budget resolution” is to slash $880B from Medicaid. $880B is literally almost the ENTIRE Medicaid budget (right now it sits at about $871B). So basically, this is insane. I suspect this will be wildly unpopular.

*sigh* Recently, 17 states have sued with regard to Section 504, calling it unconstitutional. Section 504 requires schools to provide appropriate supports for students with disabilities, as well as for hospitals to have interpreters (among other things). Link: theeducatorsroom.com/in-a-new-law...

Someone in a PLN check-in today brought up a good point that in education we’re often told to “document everything” without any clear guidance as to who exactly we are documenting for. Ourselves? Admin? Others? I was always under the impression that we document for ourselves.
