“Refreshing the tree of liberty from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants doesn’t seem sustainable in the long run.”

This is the problem with America. The voters are too clever and hard to fool

What the Democratic Party could set it up so that key members and celebrities migrated over to the Republican side and took over leadership roles in their administration, including perhaps even the presidency itself?

What is the solution then?
Many might suggest revolution, but we did literally have one of those here and the very people who fought it wrote a Constitution specifically to avoid ever having a king, and you can see how that turned out.
This doesn’t seem like an easy problem

Dreading when my kids will be too cool for that stuff

I never watched much Disney stuff as a kid. I totally understand how loving something and then seeing a new iteration changes dramatically how one would evaluate it

When I was a kid they did tap your head while rubbing your belly, but I guess times change

I showed my kids the Swatch Sistem51 factory tour video yesterday. Mechanical movement, which is
Pointless and less accurate, but usually handmade, but instead made without a single human touching it

Obviously the mobster needs to pair off with Ms Katharine Hepburn and their exes should commiserate over dinner someplace nice

Oooh, many such cases. Actually Jurassic Park probably was similar for me. Oh, and “Tucker” about the car company.
Anyway, general lesson is that movies are for normies. You need books to actually learn things

I think it depends on goals. There are people who exercise for appearance and don’t care at all about capabilities otherwise. The Instagrampic is the whole point.
(I say this as someone who has not achieved neither appearance nor athletic capability)

“Yes! That’s me!”
Or something else like that but probably awkwardly

I guess my unpopular opinion is that I doubt this guy punching his dad is really that causally related to AI.
Like someone has probably been killed in a way that involved a Tamagotchi somewhere, but that doesn’t mean Tamagotchis caused it

suboptimal equilibrium?
But maybe that isn’t negative enough for what you’re going for.
comment in response to

Probably not a single word, but “trapped in a suboptimal region” maybe gets the gist? But so does your wording

I would add “equilibrium” for “point naturally arrived”
So altogether, “market failure observed at equilibrium”

it occurs to me that "That's my purse! I don't know you!" will be ineffective against a criminal-dressed-in-tacticool now. Like, guys will be hiring guys to kidnap the exes they are obsessed with off the streets

Gruntled is a funny one because it also sounds kind of like the person’s not too happy. Whelmed sounds more like “satisfied” to my ear
