I like to think that I am also like that, playing hardware gear, software synths, grooveboxes, trackers, samplers, and pedals, but while I enjoy this freedom, something in me demands to make it a process and commit to it

I am with you. I have a big respect for the credits roll, and I always enjoy the music, which often serves to process thoughts, cool down, and avoid rushing into the reality shock.
