That’s a very good point. I guess sometimes it’s SO evil that I don’t even read it as that; it seems purposeless because I can’t imagine what would motivate you to do something that terrible.

This is Captain Planet villain kind of evil. No rhyme or reason; just the most mean-spirited shit for its own sake.

I really appreciate you engaging with everyone. For my part, I think these two posts are in real tension with one another. How can it be that the headlines don’t matter, but also your company goes out of its way to test which headlines will do best (however that’s defined)?

Nowhere near the most important thing, but I’m continuously struck by the weird armaments these guys carry. What is the deal with this gun and its giant yellow magazine?

There’s an analogue of this in a lot of roguelikes, where designing systems that allow for emergent combos the devs didn’t anticipate, which really break the game, is a ton of fun!
Balatro and Monster Train both do this really well.

Yep. We were at my brother’s apartment and all the lights came on as it got dark, crickets started going crazy, it got measurably colder; and then totality.
People say it a lot, but you really do have to see that for yourself to understand it.

I’ve seen one twice now, and the second was still awesome, but my first time seeing a total solar eclipse in 2017 was indescribable.

She swallows the thing about the sun consuming the Earth as well. That will happen, but hundreds of millions of years from now! If Elon Musk doesn’t get us to Mars, we’ve got a few more opportunities before the Earth is devoured by a hungry star.

Why would they send bortac to make an arrest of someone who’s trapped where they are and definitely unarmed?

It was a HUGE scandal, the GOP and the media talked about it non-stop!
It wasn’t wrong, but that doesn’t change how it was used politically.

The trouble is, they’re not wasting their resources, they’re wasting our resources.

MAGA could certainly pass them. Indeed, the whole point is that the “right” voters get passed, while the “wrong” voters don’t.

The guy on the right in these photos appears to have a short barreled PCC with a suppressor. There’s no way that’s standard government issue, right? Do these wannabe SEALs get to bring their own toys from home?

Ok, so when you said you didn’t want to shame them, you meant…what?
And I think that Gallego’s rhetoric is disgusting, and you’re trying to pretend it’s something much more benign than it actually is. In doing so, you’re the one who is (accidentally) making it seem as though there’s no distinction.
