Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

It is a welcome step in the right direction. Not set in stone yet and suspect the health care surcharge is going to be reciprocal. E.g. health care is not 100% free in France. I don’t think benefits should be available to foreign nationals staying short term.

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli... Excellent news!!

Scrap austerity – tax the super-rich instead Britain can’t rebuild with more cuts – a wealth tax on the richest is the fair alternative to funding public services and growth yorkshirebylines.co.uk/business/eco...

Europe *really* needs to think about what it will do if Trump lines up with Putin - tries to give him east Ukraine & then get a mining deal with Putin in east Ukraine. We should be thinking about trade sanctions, X ban, UK pull out of 5 Eyes - encouraging Canada to do same, etc.

1. A common mistake is to look for ideological consistency on the far right, and to become confused when some of the things it claims to stand for sound positive and even progressive. Here’s a thread on how to understand this. 🧵

What can you do? THIS. Be there next Saturday - and show the world, America included, that Europe is united with Ukraine. 🇪🇺🇺🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦🇪🇺

www.jphilll.com/p/nerds-are-... “We need a society where people match agency with responsibility. Instead of the viciously individualistic and profit-driven ethos that built Silicon Valley, we need to foster both an ethos and concrete practices of communal responsibility and mutuality.”

🔥 AMAZING. Today, the Baltic states disconnected their power grids from that of Russia. It’s taken years of prep. What a moment.

Question is can he be stopped? I suspect it will be hard and messy to say the least.

The phrase ‘food for thought’ comes to mind. The capture of heartbreak and hope never better.

It's not a demolition site it's a mass grave. It's not a demolition site it's a crime scene. It's not a demolition site its a homeland. It's not a demolition site it's Palestine. It's not a demolition site it's a genocide.

Trump’s proposal for the U.S. to take over Gaza and permanently resettle its entire population elsewhere is completely impractical and morally unacceptable.

I cannot even begin to state how sick this makes me feel. This is evil. And must be resisted with everything.

There really hasn’t been as much coverage of Musk’s state capture as there should have been across the British media in last 24 hours. Not so on News Agents. Here’s today’s episode with 20 mins on the subject. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...

"Elon Musk is not the president, but it appears that he—a foreign-born, unelected billionaire who was not confirmed by Congress—is exercising profound influence over the federal government of the United States...It is nothing short of an administrative coup." www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

Your mom still needs to know where you are… no matter how grown up you think you are....

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on SkyNews right now is just plain wrong. The proposal for a youth mobility scheme falls far short of “free movement” because it only allows individuals to come for a limited period & does not allow them to settle in the UK or EU member state

This was posted yesterday morning before the DCA crash. Prescient.

There seems to be no end to the irresponsibility and madness: kffhealthnews.org/news/article...

Do Europeans still get to set the rules for their own elections? Or does Elon Musk decide? www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...

i just cannot get over how much the administration’s response to the crash shows a profound disrespect for the lives of the people they are supposed to serve

How can people be willing to go down the fascist path again? Tonight I watched the film ‘Lee’, the story of photographer Elizabeth `Lee' Miller, powerfully portrayed by Kate Winslet, acclaimed war correspondent during World War II. Heartbreaking that the world is being blindly led back to that.

This should be getting WAY more coverage. Can’t get a doctors appointment? Waiting hours and hours in A&E? Did you know the NHS received HALF the funding it would normally have received from 2010 to 2020. But the Tories had everyone blaming immigrants instead.

This is a message to everyone defending Elon Musk over his sieg heil at the Trump Inauguration. TLDR: His Nazi Salute isn't what make him a Nazi, his support for Nazis is. The salute is just a garnish.

A very interesting and plausible thread. For “flurry of Executive Orders” read “flurry of press releases”. Many of these, like a Truss ‘legal’ letter, are not essentially legal in nature, but media-political devices.

You’re all about to be gaslit about that Nazi salute and I’m begging you to spend no time on it. You know what you saw.

In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents. It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years. There should be no profit in education or healthcare.

It really is difficult to fully comprehend the shamelessness of MPs who did nothing on an issue for 14 long years when their party was in government only to express moral outrage on that same issue months into a new government. These people are everything that’s wrong with our politics.

Badenoch was Minister for Children and Families. She never once raised the issue of grooming gangs or met any survivors. But now she implies that Labour MPs are complicit, refuses to defend Jess Phillips and hopes to wreck the child safety bill. All to please Musk. Utterly… unforgivably detestable.

Make no mistake. Every politician, pundit & online grifter amplifying Musk's dangerous lies will be aware of this intervention by now. Make no mistake, they are choosing to mislead the public & politicise the suffering of victims in the shameful pursuit of political advantage, attention & clicks.

The censorship algorithm on Twitter reduced our audience by roughly 95%, and seriously, who does that to a wildlife biology & advocacy group ? So we moved 😇 over here to BlueSky If you could, please help us regain our following Follow Retweet and Repeat ;-) Together we can change the world.

Again- Musk’s X posts are so deranged that everyone should be writing to their MPs …expressing concern that Musk is engaged in a disinformation campaign against the UK government - attempting to foment civil unrest in the UK and endanger the safety of politicians.
