My wife died of mesothelioma at 37, she gave her last months and her remains to the study of the disease. To think that sacrifice may go to waste is heartbreaking

Every name you mentioned is just a human name. Gandalf's actual name was Olórin. We NEVER learn Gimli's actual name. Aragorn used different names when living with elves. Lagarfljótsormurinn is a real dragon name from real mythology, and harder to pronounce than Vaantikalisax.

Nyt daily today was ghoulishly focused on Biden, saying the cancer diagnosis was "more bad news for the Biden camp" and "putting fuel to the fire on discussions on his health." The man is Dying, that's not "bad news." After he did so much for cancer patients via pact/moonshot. This is disgusting.

When people back home ask me what to know about DC, I tell them: “The average congressional staffer is 26. You cannot afford to live in DC on a congressional salary. Children are writing our laws while lobbyists eat our lunch.” It healed my soul a bit this episode and your book addresses this.

Imagine a game where "not fun" is built into the mechanics. Now imagine that game is the most popular in the genre. When I plug in Super Mario 3, I'm never not having fun, even when I lose

How does the question lack context? This has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. Not during WWII, not 1812, the other times the enemies alien act was invoked, but during this made up war by a dictator who tested this 5 years ago with protesters in Portland. That's the context.

Ok, I'll bite, which president in living memory was short circuiting Habeas Corpus by disappearing people to other countries where the right doesn't exist? Even Japanese internment victims had their day in court.

Listening to the NYT interview with Chris Rufo last week has me worried. Is it even legal for them to pull funding of unrelated programs for pedagogical differences?

Whenever I imagined DND in a castle, I always thought @jamesintrocaso.bsky.social was SMALLER than the castle!

A core tenant of fascism is dismissing others' human experiences. It's disdainful of empathy.

Every paragraph dedicated to "how to make the tariffs suck less" without acknowledging they just suck.
