Some can but others are either aged out of realistically being able to move, or taking care of parents or siblings and can’t leave. I am still holding out hope that if enough of us stay, we can turn FL purple again.

There was a massive campaign against the event and a planned protest. The Villages sits in a very red area of FL, but there are many blue dots here fighting the good fight.

Unfortunately, it seems that he’s being utilized only to raise money. It’s so frustrating.

Thank you for speaking the truth about what’s happening and the impact it will have.

Maximum number of books on each shelf - so that is correct.

Maybe he should write a strongly worded letter to his senator.

None that I know or see. They all think this is just fine - getting rid of waste.

100% agree, although the fact that it was close enough that it could be quietly stolen is disturbing enough.

Thanks for sharing. This was interesting - I say as I try not diving into the bag of jelly beans I bought yesterday.

Agreed - but it cannot be done by nibbling at the edges of Republican policies. We need strong leaders to carve out our own policies. We can’t just fawn over people like Salazar who are pushing racists proposals. We need to stand up for all people or we are just part of the problem.

Absolutely.

My guess is that he will make the exception and make sure it only applies to Cubans and Venezuelans.

No, what many of us are saying is that it is horrible to approve of the deportation of certain groups but not of others. Evil would be to say “save the Cubans and Venezuelans, but F the Mexicans and Haitians”.

I completely disagree with you here. Many people, although not all, in Cuban community in Miami have leaned strongly right because the deportations were going to happen to someone else. They obviously never read the poem.

It is a great article.

Yup. We do, but people will find ways to brush it off so they don’t need to confront the truth.

Great. I was hoping to see these pardons come through - although it’s sad that it has to be done.
