I have struggled with this even more when writing in Finnish, which does not have a good equivalent to tabletop game, at least with a similar meaning. Depending on the context "lautapeli" (boardgame) does or does not include e.g., card and miniature games, but rarely trpgs.

Yes! Thank you for sharing this. I ponder about this problematic in the dissertation, drawing e.g., from @melissainau.bsky.social and @aarontram.bsky.social. Also, we did touch the topic already in 2014, in a short paper with my colleague.
