Making my way through Clair Obscur and I like it overall quite a lot but I'm starting to get a creeping sense of dread that the story is about to become massively less interesting based on what it's foreshadowing.

“Is this a dagger I see before me?” Weight: 3 Damage: 11 +2 bonus against kings of Scotland

Just heard about the Baader-Meinhof effect and it feels like I’m seeing it everywhere now

Really enjoyed the bit of Clair Obscur I’ve played so far. Also cannot believe that it’s a game with a “time to mime fight” timer of sub-20 minutes.

#Andor spoilers without context . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Montreal in the winter is part of a vast conspiracy to distract you from the fact that that Montreal in the summer is the greatest city of all time.

All of my other Andorpilled friends didn’t stay up to watch the episodes last night

Getting kicked out of the renfaire for going as a factor of a financially precarious merchant house and asking everyone if Cyprus has fallen to the Turk

This is an exceptional piece for this moment in games.

#Andor . . . . . . . . . Also, god, that Syril/Eedy conversation where she’s echoing the exact anti-Ghorman talking points we saw floated in the first episode and gets huffy and defensive when called out on it like she always felt that way. Bone chilling.

#Andor . . . . . . . . . . . . . The single best part of the one year time skips is that they’ve dropped us right in the middle of each block’s arc. They never ever-exposit what happened in the interim, we just pick up in the middle of the next thing, leaving us to fill the gaps. Pure narrative gas.

#Andor . . . . . . . . . Man as someone who speaks some French, the Ghor language was so convincingly not-French that I got a little annoyed that I couldn’t understand what they were saying.

Chotiner is a legitimately good journalist but it’s wild that people think he’s some sort of evil wizard because he says “what do you mean by that”

Why do I have something called “Flavour pass” in my list of tasks. Deeply unserious discipline.

“I yearned to be a saviour against injustice and by the time I looked down, there was no more ground beneath my feet.” I can’t help but feel that Luthen and Mon would understand each other more deeply than either could imagine if they could ever just talk, as people.

All I want from Andor S2 is more bureaucratic politics. Let’s hear that sectoral staff churn rate, baby

The Alien movies have some of the best All-Purpose Plot sealant out there, because the answer to any conceivable work hazard or equipment malfunction is just “it was, like, 8 cents cheaper to do it this way”

Very pleased with the first Shadow Doge playtest, and also now have the phrase “the nephew meat grinder” stuck in my head

Verdict: it’s a lot of fun.
