I'm happy about this since I was really discouraged around gardening generally a couple years ago when I had some bunk seedling dirt

Our only evidence is the big guy said so. Nerds will say they won't show the video so capabilities remain secret, but a smoldering crater would probably be better propaganda

Sort of a parallel thing: at work whenever they announce the completion of a big project, there's a stampede of emails with executives congratulating each other. Like they know they haven't contributed anything but they have to get their names in there

Also the bigger picture is the repeated explosions show their whole engineering process isn't working. They should be solving issues, developing a knowledge base, and getting farther in the flight but they're going in circles

Problem two is the design goal is not physically achievable in terms of payload and thrust, so they keep trimming the weight and safety margins. So they're building this high performance thing with minimum structural support but it's also supposed to be durable and reusable. The math isn't mathing

There are two explanations I've heard. One is from the beginning his top guys have been radical cost cutters. Eg years ago the NASA fuel tank had these ribs inside to prevent sloshing liquid from tipping the rocket in flight. Those were scrapped until they discovered the tipping problem
