Our state lacks enough supportive housing and rehabilitative resources to make sure everyone who lives in the street has a safe, dignified place to call home. Nor do we have enough willpower to prevent people falling into poverty and losing their homes too

strong start but a lot of the book is simulated doom scrolling on Twitter. That downgraded my enjoyment of the book significantly. Considering the premise & characters are strong, it’s wasted in the Twitter parts. The real scenes between characters are what make this worthwhile to read

Fascinating POV story from an Asian author writing as a white author stealing from Asian authors. It’s a viciously contemporary 2010s book with a lot of meta-social-commentary but ultimately not sure what the conclusive message is.
