021. Mulholland Drive (David Lynch , 2001) Incredibly this is the first time I'm seeing it and, brilliantly, it's at the cinema.

020. A Real Pain (Jesse Rosenberg, 2024) And with this, I complete my Oscar Best Picture nominees watch. First time I've managed it before the Oscars in a few years. It's good to be back.

017. I'm Still Here (Walter Salles, 2024) Demonstrates why putting the director and year on this list is important: not to be confused with I'm Still Here (Affleck, C, 2010)

013. Legally Blonde (Robert Luketic, 2001) Every film needs to end with on screen text about what happened to the characters next.

012. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Jake Kasdan, 2007) Particularly brilliant after A Complete Unknown.

011. A Complete Unknown (James Mangold, 2024) Perhaps unusually for others going into this film, it almost was a complete unknown. Though I have at least heard of Baez Cash, Dylan, and recognised Blowin' in the Wind and Tambourine Man. Still largely unknown in detail, though.

010. September 5 (Tim Fehlbaum, 2024) Tense, taut, terrific. Delightfully only 95mins long. A refreshing change from the last two!

009. Jeanne Dielman 23 Quai de Commerce 1080 Bruxelles (Chantal Akerman, 1975) This week I will mostly be watching 3+hr films, apparently. Excited to see the film that topped the @sightandsound.bsky.social poll of Greatest Films Ever Made, back in 2022.
