Waterfowl! Posting because I like the #birds feed. I mainly see and hear interesting birds in NYC parks, especially #MorningsidePark and #CentralPark, and take photos with my phone. Have grown to appreciate our feathered dinosaur neighbors. #urbanbirding #addBirder

Happy International Women's Day!

Earlier tonight, hundreds of Jews — including rabbis, community leaders, and former ADL staffers — rallied outside the ADL conference in Midtown Manhattan to protest the organization’s support for Trump and Musk’s dangerous agenda. We don’t and will never collaborate with fascists. #DropTheADL

From my morning walk. #MorningsidePark #Snowfall

An organization that uses my classroom on weekends often leaves things behind, and rearranges all the student desks. When I saw this on the whiteboard I felt an urge to edit. (My contributions are in orange.) @grammartable.bsky.social #Prescriptivism4eva #TeamOxfordComma

Walked the picket line with Arts-MSM this afternoon for about an hour. When music faculty strike, expect great percussion, guitar accompaniment, and signs like "Increase Our 𝄢 Pay." ny1.com/nyc/all-boro...

I never would have predicted how just checking the NYT home page every day would qualify as doomscrolling.

In the 2010s I used to assign a "Dictator Handbook" history review project - students had a lot of creative fun with it. By 2016 it didn't seem so amusing, and now even less. At least my 10th grade world history students will know what to expect from autocrats. #AmericanUnexceptionalism #EduSky
