Angus Young of AC/DC must have watched a lot of Three Stooges shorts while growing up....

Love this Gill-man sketch Tatum did earlier this year. Great attention to detail. She knows the guy well enough from all of the times her dad has watched his movies.

Some famous shots from film.

Sometimes you just feel like Captain Kirk pretending to be a horse…

The level of excitement upon finding this cereal on the shelves years back was astronomical. I hope he returns this October.

What’s a poster you had up in your room growing up?

LOGAN’S RUN was released on this date in 1976. Two words: Jenny Agutter.

Frenemies to the max…

Concluding my Universal Studios Movie Marathon with one from the Master of Suspense.

It seems every comedian had to make a horse racing comedy back in the day. Playing the one Bud and Lou made during my Universal Studios Movie Marathon.

Like they did with gothic horror in the 30s and 40s, Universal led the studio pack with slick sci-fi productions in the 50s. Their first effort is now playing during my Universal Studios Movie Marathon.

Watching that film where a character says penis breath. Now up on my Universal Studios Movie Marathon.

A trio of Walter Lantz cartoons are up next on my Universal Studios Movie Marathon. Like most 40s and 50s cartoon characters, Woody and friends could be a violent lot.

Tatum sketched a Jaws spoof with a little inspiration from Mad Magazine.

The Universal Studios Movie Marathon continues with a monster mash.

If I had a time machine, I would go back to yesterday and eat that delicious burger I ordered from Dicks again….

Kicking off my Universal Studios Movie Marathon with what I feel is a perfect comedy.

Feels like a Universal Studios Movie Marathon kind of day…that should give me some variety!

If you see this, post an image you saved because it made you laugh.

Today’s silly rambling….Parker Posey would have played a great Shelly in a live action Jabberjaw movie.

Hello, my baby / hello, my honey / hello, my ragtime gal. / Send me a kiss by wire / baby, my hearts on fire / if you refuse me / honey, you'll lose me / then you'll be left alone / Oh baby, telephone and tell me I'm your own.

So glad Steven Spielberg never gave up on Bruce and delivered us JAWS.

Poster @avartwork.bsky.social created for a screening I hosted a few summers back. Can stand toe to toe with some of the worst movies I’ve ever screened…and I’ve screened a lot of them.

One of my favorite pictures of my daughter and I.

Based on the cage scene in JAWS, it appears Hooper also shops at Don’s Discount Shark Cages. Gotta love The Far Side.

For those of you deathly afraid of sharks and are looking for a G Rated version JAWS to watch on its 50th anniversary.

Are you watching JAWS today on its 50th anniversary or on the 4th of July or both?

That time I crushed it like Quint…

Cheers to JAWS, the greatest movie ever made. [Art by Tatum]

Happy 50th Jaws!

Approximately 5.24 billion people worldwide use social media, representing 63.9% of the global population. I have a lot of work to do reminding over 5 billion people that JAWS turns 50 tomorrow…

Random ramblings…ever notice how the title cards for the first two episodes of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! display the monster before switching to the standard card with the gang running under the title? Would have been fun to see that style continue for the series.

Hey monster fans…ever notice how similar JAWS and THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON are in tone and style? I wrote about those similarities in this old piece for @dailygrindhouse.bsky.social.

Are you going to crush it like Quint tomorrow as JAWS turns 50? [Art by Tatum]

I don’t care if there is a good THC level in a Scooby Snack, you’re not getting me in those houses.

That tablecloth never had it so good…

I think Washington D.C. is due for a good old fashion pie fight.

Tatum drew Tex Avery’s Wolf and his extreme take from Northwest Hounded Police (1946).

Bellingham’s independent theater, The Pickford, has screened some real classics over the last few years.

I once asked @avartwork.bsky.social to create some comical art for a Jaws piece I wrote for a film website. Ultimately the article wasn’t published so we converted the art into a print and handed it out at a Jaws screening I hosted. At the end of the day, it was put to much better use.

Bruce turns 50 this Friday. He expects you to eat a rocking chair to help celebrate...or at least a license plate.

When I see someone using that shot from ONCE UPON A TIME IN…HOLLYWOOD again…oh wait….
