“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Just a friendly reminder that one can acknowledge that laws, constitutions, &c. don't enforce themselves without sliding all the way to "HAHA NOTHING MATTERS!" Even the most dictatorial governments are subject to political constraints. Participate in the politics you want to see in the world.

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens. Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”
