This reflects perfectly those in the Republican Party who personally dislike Trump but have chosen to ally themselves with him. Like Saruman, they deceive themselves into believing such alliances come at no real cost to themselves.

Seems to me Democrats ought to lean into Republican threats (sometimes more than threats) to "launch investigations" into perceived misconduct. "You wanna investigate? I'll give ya something to investigate!"
