Maybe it’s not applicable here but in my field there are a lot of consultants who used to work for government. They get to do international work in countries with less advanced systems. They get paid well because of their expertise using top tier systems and programs.

I grew up in NoVa, inside the beltway. At a time when the area was a co. town. That co. was the Fed. Gov't.
Everyone had at least 1 family member who workd for the Fed. That was my Dad. Now it's my bro-in-law, niece & a nephew.

My father spent the last 2 weeks of his life in hospice care. The care he received from doctors, nurses, counselors, lab techs, dietary staff to sitters was amazing. Thank you hospice care for your kindness. You will always be with me. ❤️

People in the private sector know getting paid more means they have less job security. Government jobs offer less pay but with more job security. That’s the difference here.
