You are right. But it's 2025. Talking about it as if it will happen is how politics works. It also forces right wing media to talk about it and if there is enough Dem proposed legislation, Trump and Elon have to respond to the Dems rather than vice versa

I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?

Okay, so, Cuban is getting a fair bit of hate and also a fair bit of support (that's not the point, don't get hung up on it) but there are very few people at least willing to engage with AI systems on an exploratory level. It starts as play, but it can lead to some serious research.

When I talk to kids today and they ask me what I would do if I were 12 today, my answer is always the same, read books and learn how to use AI in every way shape and form you can. It is a living library that gives you responses and can help no matter who you are or where you live.
