The Greenway has been closed to people walking and cycling in east London for months, and the diversion is too dangerous. I've written to Thames Water, and everyone with a stake in the Greenway asking for a better diversion, and for better planning in future. (Link to letter in next post).

Very interesting observations by Prof. Walker. A thread worth reading for residents, campaigners and councillors 👏

In #Wandsworth: "As a result of resident feedback, the revised scheme does not include speed humps.... Additionally, only seven parking spaces along the whole of Burntwood Lane will be repurposed for the safety improvements... mini roundabouts at Beechcroft Road and Aboyne Road are being retained."

The data used by Wandsworth does not seem quite right, comparing 2020 to 2023 to claim Hammersmith Bridge’s closure caused more traffic. But the bridge was already closed in 2020! A fair baseline shows motor traffic on Putney Bridge has actually fallen by 12% www.wandsworth.gov.uk/news/news-ja...

@richmondcouncil.bsky.social has a new draft #climate and #nature strategy and they want to hear your views on it: richmondclimatestrategy.commonplace.is/news/read-ou...

Great news for Wandsworth residents, especially those living car-free: The council now offers two free bulky waste collections per year per household. Steps like this make car-free living even easier and more practical for more people. www.wandsworth.gov.uk/news/news-fe...

Petition to Parliament. It would mean when vulnerable road users, e.g cyclists & pedestrians, claim against a more powerful road user (a driver), the driver would be presumed liable unless they prove otherwise. tinyurl.com/55uht3zj

Great news, the petition just passed 2,000 signatures. Huge thanks to everyone who signed and set a strong message to Wandsworth and Merton that we want to see the Wandle Gap closed. Keep sharing www.change.org/p/fix-the-mi...

This would not be possible without floating bus stops.

In March, we introduced new 50% concessions for Santander Cycles targeting seven groups of Londoners including veterans, apprentices, disabled people and people on income support. And we've seen over 20,000 new cyclists using this great offer. 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

Extremely saddened by the tragic deaths of two cyclists on Wandsworth's roads within just two days in 2024. Our hearts goes out to their families and loved ones. Join the protest in Stratford to demand immediate actions from TfL and all London councils to improve road safety for all.

Women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony realized the importance of the bicycle as an instrument of liberation - one of the invention's most significant legacies. Happy #BicycleBirthday, Susan B. Anthony! Born on this day February 15 (1820-1906)

Modal filters are almost magical: pollution and congestion get filtered out and wellbeing and health amplify #Utrecht

This looks potentially *very* useful for #Wandsworth Council 👇

Thanks to the fantastic @londonls.bsky.social & @londoncycling.bsky.social groups from Richmond, Kingston, Hounslow & Wandsworth for hosting me last night. Great evening discussing walking & cycling in West London - successes & challenges (plenty of both!)

A generation goes, and a generation comes... Let's fix the Missing Link in the Wandle Trail at #Earlsfield

With ever increasing volumes of traffic and bigger and heavier cars and delivery vehicles this is so important and urgent. It should also be connected to making places nicer to be.

The Wandle Trail is a lovely traffic-free walking & cycling route, until it suddenly ends, forcing you onto busy roads. Call on Wandsworth & Merton to fix the "Missing Link" at Earlsfield and complete the trail Sign the petition to make it safer and accessible for all: www.change.org/p/fix-the-mi...

Would you like you, your family and your community to be able to travel on a green N-S 'active travel' route through #Earlsfield? Let's fix the Earlsfield Missing Link in the Wandle Trail! Petition: www.change.org/p/fix-the-mi...

PETITION: Fix the "missing link" in the Wandle Trail. Looks like this might finally happen! www.change.org/p/fix-the-mi...

Kingston Council are asking people to answer a questionnaire so that they can better understand what they need to do to make cycling easier. Questions focus quite a lot on cycle training, but isn't it drivers who need training??!! www.kingstonletstalk.co.uk/highways-and...
