Dealing with our central network team at work would drive any sane person mental. There was a site-to-site VPN outage (4 separate tunnels down) Tues that resulted in 100+ people not able to access an app in AWS for 45 min. Network team “if app stays running in AWS there’s no network outage.” 🤷‍♂️

Putting an old Mac from 1989 on the internet - not because you should - but because you can! Mac SE/30 128 MB RAM BlueSCSI v2 hard drive emulator with Pico W #retrocomputing

My loathing of utility submetering from American Power and Light grows daily. In Ohio, they legally can’t charge higher rates than the prevailing utility in the area. Great. But mandatory $30 to setup a new acct, min of $1 fee to pay online each month, “common” area charges that tripled? Yuck!

It seems either my electric co. or my landlord is doing some shady shit w/ the electric billing. The charge for the common usage electricity (mostly outdoor lights) last month was $7. This month it is $22. Which means with 100 tenants here the total common electric was $2200 for the property. BS!

Good morning, Bluesky. Would your day be improved with a version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" sung in Latin? Perhaps! youtu.be/Xtt78SW-mgg

This is the most ridiculous thing ever and also the best ever use of LinkedIn.

At least this is respectable!

If I ever see that term again just k1ll me! What is this AI bullshit?!

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases) projects.propublica.org/claimfile/

Nothing sums up Columbus, Ohio (where I live) more than what a cop said while questioning some Nazis that were marching recently. “The Buckeyes are playing man. Come on bro.” 🤷‍♂️

I showed a pic of this horrendous wiring monstrosity (from a building I worked at years ago) to the AT&T tech who setup my home gigabit fiber recently and he was able to instantly identify the street address. Wow. We all have our hidden talents!

Relocating to a new residence always sucks - even when it’s not far away. But I can almost can see daylight! Time to get social again.
