My fav album of 2025 so far. The title song: youtu.be/dSJI7FveC-c?...

Curious if either of you have heard that sound from them. youtu.be/u0ctM7OEOA4

I once was camping in a western WA campground one night and was freaked out by the crazy, eerie sound I kept hearing in the middle of the night. Soft and airy, but somehow “loud”. Later that week i checked some bird sound sites that helped me deduce that it was baby barred owls begging for food.

You could probably glean a lot of techniques watching a livestream of Theo Browne. You can see him often redoing lines he messes up.

Seems like yet another solution looking for a problem.

Waku.gg is a framework that focuses on RSC and is built on Vite. Haven’t used it, but it’s proof that others are doing it.

Shit. I didn’t think of this. I buy the frozen patty food and it comes from Canada and is already pretty spendy (and am unemployed). 😩

And by “voice of Jeeves”, I presume you mean PG Wodehouse Jeeves. Does that mean you start every prompt with “what, ho!”?

I love hearing him talk about why they chose Golang

I’m listening to Anders talk about it on the Syntax podcast now. Dang, that guy is so smart, but so good at talking about the intricacies of the port in a way that I kind of understand 😎

Wouldn’t you set up the component props as a Discriminated Union of each possible variant interface that keys in on the shared variant prop to discriminate? basarat.gitbook.io/typescript/t...

I saw them open for Men at Work. Did I see you there, Scott? 😄

I'll let you figure it out. I stated my opinion and don't want to go down this road similar to a toddler's repeatedly asking "why" to every answer. So as with my own kids, I will answer "Well, why do you think?" and see what answers you come up with. ;)

No but I have done my own migration from CRA4 to Vite and it was really simple and straightforward. I’m just saying the framework route seems overkill compared to direct to Vite only. Pitching the framework route first in the docs seems odd to me (IMHO)

Plain Vite should be top of the list along with quick code mods to get there. It is much closer an equivalent to CRA than a full framework and is the least complicated migration. Even if the framework contains Vite it's just extra baggage. Folks can then evaluate themselves if a framework is needed.

Small bug, Other Services line 12 looks like it's supposed to be "Convex" but is instead an empty string.

I haven’t watched yet, but I never expected a comparison to Misfits.

Originally, I looked at the AT protocol and AppSync and deduced that AT would be better for getting out (if enshittification starts), since only the index was centralized to bsky. Am I wrong?

Wear merino wool in layers. Expensive but worth every penny. only covert the front of the pant legs and make sure you have pit zips on your rain shell

Lols! As someone who watched a lot of BH reruns in the 80's, this moniker fits! :D

When you started playing the "discussion" I couldn't help but think about all the ads I get in YouTube now that are the same thing but in a video form that doesn't even sync up with the mouth of the person in the video.

I wish we would stop calling it Artificial Intelligence and give it a moniker like "Simulated Intelligence". Real AI, IMHO, would only need a couple of Snikers Bars of energy to be taught the number of Rs in strawberry, instead of having to spin up Three Mile Island to retrain the whole model.

Wow! You poured out much of the same sentiments that have been brewing in me about where the AI hype train is taking us. At least search engines give the links/context so that you can do an analysis like this. I can't imagine how much worse it is replacing with contextless AI responses to prompts.
