In Memoriam Congressman John Lewis 2/21/1940-7/17/2020 Honoring the little boy from Troy who dared to dream of freedom and equality for all and believed all things were possible if you got in good trouble. There is no need to miss our precious hero because he lives in each ballot we cast. 🧵1/2

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Go ahead. Let the people see you for what you are.

Oh, look what normal countries do when a former president leads a far right coup attempt.

Some UCSF doctors are directly experiencing the consequences of medical misinformation for the first time. Now, they are impacted. And so for the first time, they righteously care about the consequences of misinformation. But they should have been caring the whole time.

Democrats in Washington have been reactive - not proactive - in creating a strategy to counter the Trump agenda. We can’t continue to be caught flat-footed. I’ve got a solution. Check out my first Substack below. open.substack.com/pub/wileynic...

Happy Birthday to Frederick Douglass who would by very disappointed in all of this BS but would never, ever stop fighting (or getting his photo taken)

Gov. Hochul will have to remove the Mayor. This is unconscionable.

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

It’s no secret that Chair Powell and I disagree on a lot, but today we agreed: without the CFPB, there is no federal regulator making sure giants banks don't cheat you.

“It (CFPB) was set up to destroy people…” You mean like these guys? Harbour Portfolio, scumbag contract-for-deed home “sellers” www.nytimes.com/2016/02/21/b...

I know there's been years of disinfo downplaying the flu in order to dismiss COVID as a threat, but both things cause serious illness and are best avoided. This flu wave is no joke. It's a good idea to get this season's flu vaccine (it's not too late), and wear a well-fitting mask like an N95.

Under fascism, no one is safe. Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc. Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations. Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

RFK Jr. and his family stand to profit off lawsuits against vaccines. An HHS Secretary shouldn't have a financial interest in making our country sicker. I’m demanding RFK Jr. recuse himself from any work on vaccine policy while he has a financial interest in the outcome.

if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

Sen Chris Murphy (D-CT) just now: “You could literally walk down the street and the first 100 people you’d find would be less dangerous as the head of HHS than Robert F Kennedy Jr. He will get people killed”

Caroline Kennedy's letter to the Senate on her cousin RFKJr. is devastating. It is an absolute condemnation of his fitness for office, his lack of character as a human being and must have been deeply painful to write. Any Senator who reads this and votes for this man should be run out of office.

BREAKING: Philadelphia workers have won the first Whole Foods union under Amazon with UFCW. Since Amazon bought the chain, workers have lost benefits and felt the squeeze. Now they're fighting back against the multi-trillion dollar giant and hoping this win will be the first of many.
