Have you been struggling with how to make your voice heard? I just discovered the 5 Calls app. Scripts and contacts easily accessible. Make a difference!

Black History is American History. Knowledge is power. Get to know and appreciate our fellow humans, no matter the color of their skin.

If you crave beauty in your world follow my friend Adriana Amari. Poetic poetry from the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland.

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend reading "Our Missing Hearts" by Celeste Ng. A very timely novel.

Today would have been my brother's 61st birthday. An auto accident when he was 20 left him severely brain damaged and blind in one eye. He lived the next 20 years in a nursing home, unable to care for himself or talk. He was a shining light to everyone that interacted with him. Love lives forever.

In honor of President Carter today I will think and do good. This man had strong principals and didn't let anything knock him down. I proudly voted for him and sobbed when Reagan was elected. Time is a patient judge, and it is clear that Jimmy was a living example of his faith.

Happy New Year day two. Finishing up putting holiday decor away. I really need to simplify next year. Each year I do less but it still is a project. Watched Mummers Parade yesterday, a long standing tradition.

It's a wonderful life... What is the most unexpected awesome thing that happened to you?

Rough road to recovery. When I feel on 12/1 I fractured three metacarpals in my left hand. One of them rather severely. Scheduled for surgery on all three this Thursday. Looking forward to being on the healing side of the injury, instead of the purgatory I am currently in.

Here is what I was carrying when I tumbled yesterday. Our tomato plants are still producing but frost has killed the vines. Lots of green tomatoes!

Monday musings: Since 2020 each year I sustained an injury. 2020: concussion/fractured skull. 2021 broken right hand, 2022 broken left hand, 2023 broken left foot. I almost made it through 2024 unscathed but yesterday I broke my last hand. All were stupid accidents. So now I slow down and adapt.

Tell me something good! We retired and moved to be near our son and his family to become dedicated grandparents. Both grandkids have challenges, one has CP the other ADHD. Yesterday we cared for them, it was a joy to be able to be a grandparent. Both kids are so loving! We are blessed.

"Don't give up your power!" Thanks, Kamala!

Tell me something good! My hubby and I spent Thanksgiving with our D-I-L's family. 8 adults, 4 kids. Children aged 22 M, 6, 10 and 12 years old. The food was good but the best part was watching the kids have fun and hearing all the laughter. Thankful for family, however we may be related.

Tell me something good! We planned to see Wicked today. I spent a sleepless night and was hesitant to spend 3 hours in a theatre with comfy reclining seats. Wicked was so excellent I didn't nearly doze off and the time flew. What an awesome experience Wicked is!

Tell me something good! A neighbor just asked me to do some favors for her. It always feels good to help someone. Thanks for asking!

Tell me something good! My 12 year old grandson has ADHD and is on the low end of the autism spectrum. Some days it is hard for him to see the light. I sing "Tell me something good" repeatedly until he has a good thing to share with me. It is important to always see good in the darkness.

Tell me something good? After months of drought and above normal temperatures we are experiencing rain and a definite chill. It is good to have normal seasonal weather. Looking forward to breaking out the hat and gloves!

I am too old for THIS shit! At my first job in 1970 I worked with a woman who dressed in men's clothing, a man's haircut. I have had many gay friends, and professional contact with trans men and women. One thing in common: they were each very human and doing the best they could. Live and let live!
